Are you serious? Arrogance? I happen to watch the Allsvenskan most weeks and have been watching quite a lot of Elfsborg recently. They have been much worse this year than they were last year and really are an average team. They have only won 1 of their last 5 and that was against Syrianska who are one of the poorest teams in the league. They lost to AIK yesterday and had two poor draws where they played pretty bad football against average opposition in the two games before that. They brought in Bangura as a marquee signing and he hasn't really set the heather on fire either. They are a pretty poor side in terms of teams we've played in qualifiers. It's not * arrogance and I'm pretty sure you're not 'embarassed'. * sake, some people on here are so quick to try and assert their dominance and think that anyone who says we might win a game knows nothing about football.

Yes, it is arrogance to think we will win a European away match as of right.

See, if you had put all that in your original post it wouldn't have sounded so arrogant.

I am genuinely embarrassed by the way in which many Celtic supporters consider opposition at both home and abroad to be walkovers. The lessons of Artmedia are soon forgotten.

I never said you know nothing about football. I said, based on your original rather brief post, that that post was ridiculously and embarrassingly arrogant.

Write more detailed posts if you don't want to be misunderstood.

I have warned you about that arrogant attitude before. We have no right to be so confident. I know you think your standing by the team by trusting in them but we aren't hot * mate. Elfsborg could put us out.

We can't be complacent. We think were a better team than Elfsborg. Elfsborg think they're a better team than us. This is football. Anything can happen. We may consider ourselves favorites but that doesn't mean we will win.

I hope derk is fit for Wed. His pace and skill would cause problems for any team. I think on the evidence of the first leg we will create chances. I hope we convert them. Sammy has to start, great player for Euro games. Hope if we make it thru after Wed, we will get in another striker, asap. I know we are working on it. Concentration is key, hope Efe is concentrating! Hail Hail.

Hopefully it's mind games by Lenny and all will be fit to go over there..

The amount of times in Europe we've heard players were out against us and had no chance of playing only to be in the lineup fit a a fiddle..

I'm hoping this is the case

No reason we shouldn't be confident but it's not a cert. We have not got the best away record in Europe, but it did improve last season. I think we will go through but the tie is far from over.

In public they're obviously going to say this, but I think they're fully aware that Celtic are a better team. If Elfsborg really thought they were better than us then they would've come out and played against us last week, but they didn't, they sat in and played for a draw, and didn't even get one.

Do they think they're better than us though?

I remember seeing the pre-match press conference with their manager on SSN last week and he admitted that they were massive underdogs going into the first leg. Maybe he meant with the crowd on our side and all though, I'm not sure.

I quite like their manager, seems a very relaxed guy.

Be a nervy 90 mins this, if everyone is fit, sammy loan striker, mulgrew for ambrose in central defence and mathews on the right instead of forrest.

Wouldnt be suprised if this went to extra time to be honest.

Don't worry Spellcheck92, teams always give bravado in public. Don't buy into it. Elfsborg are * and I stand by what I have been saying all of the time: we will beat them over and in both legs. No problem.

To any Swedes or others who watch Swedish footbal: how representative was their performance at CP? If that's how they usually play, then they're much weaker than Helsingborg were last year and we should win comfortably; if they're normally of a similar standard to that of Helsingborg last year and that was a blip, then this tie isn't over yet.

Helsingborg started at home and probably felt they had to win the game in Sweden to have a chance in Glasgow therefore attacking more. Elfsborgs first half was really good but in the second half they went too defensive and didnt have any attack at all. The game in Sweden will be totally different and I can say for sure that this tie isn't over yet.

It was unlike Elfsborg I would say, they are usually the more attacking and technical team in Sweden, that wants to keep the ball within the team. They are strong at home, but I think they will continue on the track they started at Celtic Park. Their players said that they were going for the same strategy, but with a bit more offensive football. They are of a similar standard of Helsingborg last year, but have not been playing that well this year, but focus has always been on the qualifiers and this is their most important game, so they will try to be as prepared as possible.

With that saying, Elfsborg fans would not believe they are better than us, they know that we have a better team and operate in a different world to Swedish clubs, but they are also pretty confident that they can get through this tie because they feel the difference between us and them is not that big, and that they have a big advantageous of being in the middle of the season.
