To be honest, I can understand his decision to want to play for Australia...they're almost guaranteed a World Cup place every 4 yrs with their qualification route

 

Plus, he's Austrailan, funilly enough.

He'd be better of playing for Australia - better climates

That's true...

Although the travel back and forth for International fixtures for Australia must be brutal

 

he'll most likely be called up to the full Australian squad sometime this season, and lets hope he makes it to Rio as well!!!

That is all that is wrong with modern day football,being able to toss up on which country you choose...

In this case though it seems like he is just playing for the country of his birth

It's sort of is the point. You said Irvine wouldn't play for Scotland because he sees himself as Aussie and therefore inferred that a player wouldn't play for Scotland unless they saw themselves as Scottish. Morrison played for England at every youth level and said that he chose to play for Scotland because his opportunities with England would be limited

Also, he qualifies through his grandparents.
