He supposedly played in 46 games last season alone. Hardly as injury prone as people are making out.

If you watched him play last season or even just look at his stats, you'll know that he isn't injury prone and that he doesn't have a "bogey ankle" (his ankle, as far as I'm aware, hasn't been a problem area, so maybe you could shed some light on your thinking). He played more games than Joe Ledley last season, who rarely misses a game through injury. So you are basing this on one minor injury during his three week Celtic career. I'm embarrassed for you.

Are you still here?....Defender of the sick and wounded. We'll see how does when he's fit and putting back to back games in.

Like I've said previously on this thread the boy looks to have bags of skill and I do hope he makes it here at CP.

So far however we've seen less than a game from him....right now he's as much use as an ashstray on a motorcycle. See I become a fan of players after they EARN the shirt....not turn up and hold it up.I'll defend and be an ardent fan of players who put the games and have earned our admiration like alot of our current squad. This guy is an unknown. ..so excuse me for reserving judgment...according to likes of you he's already an untouchable legend never to be doubted.

How dare I mention the possibility of him being injury prone. Sorry I upset you....maybe you can go dry the wet patch on your Derk knickers now I've apologized.

So many drama queens at the moment...flying off the handle because you mention someone might be injury prone.

Did big Derk pump your burd, mate? :smiley-laughing002:

    You've reserved judgement, have you?

Ironic as you've just flown off the handle because someone told you that a player who has been out injured for three weeks after playing 43 games the previous season is not "injury prone". What can you not understand about that? Are you so * dense? :smiley-laughing002:

He has played 43 matches for Ajax last season mate. He being injury prone is just a myth.

Bit unfair to call him injury prone if he's got a seemingly new injury that he hasn't had before. It's like someone breaking their leg and getting accused of having dodgy legs.

Your not well in the heid I suspect.

I should know better....anyway....very good well done....carry on laying into fellow supporters who doubt the fitness of a guy that:

We've only seen injured so far.
Was signed carrying an ankle injury.
Was labeled a liability by previous fans with good reason.
Hasn't even made the bench in our key CL games.

No one has personally insulted the guy or his ability only that we SUSPECT he might be injury prone.

You dont seem to take that point in but jump straight to default 'how dare you accuse my Derk'.

Ill pass on swearing at you or directly talking about family or loved ones as I wouldn't stoop that low....esp towards my fellow Tic supporters.

By the way I dont have a 'bird'...I have a wife and she's a beautiful Glasgow Celtic supporter.

    Walloper.

So, I guess you follow Dutch football and/or Ajax then? What are you basing the injury prone thing on? The only real problem many Ajax supporters have with him that he is very outspoken. I liked him at Ajax, although he's not really the type of player that fits in their style of play. I think he will do brilliant here.

I really hope he does well here.

Or you could just answer the question. Based on what do you suspect he might be injury prone?

Johan - I agree with u here that Derk is a good player. Looks a very skillful player. He showed in 30 mins against Ross County that he's a player alright. I haven't seen the same attributes with our Dutch centre half

What have you based that on? My ability to reason?

I genuinely meant to cause no offence with that comment. It's a figure of speech, as I'm sure you know, so there's no need to play the victim. It was said on another thread no later than a few days ago.

You really are one to take offence given your previous posts in this thread.

I don't know how you've arrived at the conclusion that I'm Derk's best pal. I've based my judgement on the number of appearances he made over a six year period and the fact that a broken back caused him to miss much of the 2011-12 season and not his "glass ankles". A number of others have confirmed this - including Johan, an Ajax fan, who is better placed than either of us to say whether he is or isn't injury prone - but you've chosen to ignore them and focus all your anger on me for whatever reason.

You've based your judgement on one minor injury during a three week stint at Celtic.

I'm not going to discuss it any further, if you refuse to listen to reason.
