Apart from the fact Scunthorpe got a % of the transfer fee and Hooper didn't ask for a move so he would have also been due a part as a loyalty payment.

It's amazing how much the loss of wanyama, hooper and wilson has dented our team. We need quality replacements, and finny hopefully can be that man. * knows how you replace wanyama (I dont think we can in our price range) but Wilson is a bit easier to resolve.

Replacing Wilson should be made top priority, even a bigger priority than signing a striker. Without a quality centre half we may even put the SPL title in jeopardy this year, I fear.

I think it should be the other way round. Quality striker first, as we have no goals in us up front

If we didn`t want to stump up 5 mil a couple of weeks back. His recent burst of form and of goals will only make the situation more and more unlikely.

We're letting 2 past us with Karagandy and Inverness CT tho :54:

At least our midfielders have goals in them. And we have Stokes. But yeah I don't know what is taking so long signing a centre half and a striker. Have we even been linked with any centre halves very recently? :31:

my honest opinion is we could have avoided some of the goals with Charlie at the back . do not know why he does not play him there

We have at least one centre half in Van Dijik and one from Mulgrew, Lustig and Moyoukolo, who with a run of games should be more than capable of forming a partnership.

Minus Hooper, we have little to no threat up front and that is a great concern.

Im sure he's well out of our price range now because his recent performances would have bumped his price right up!

Nah, don't agree there. If he could score regularly in the CL (over more than 1 season) and manage 30 goals a year, I reckon he'd be worth much more than £5m. I don't know where the Wanyama fee came into the conversation: I certainly never compared that to the fee we could get for Finnbogason, but in any case, it's v presumptuous to blindly guess that he'd have to score as many as Larsson to go for the same money as Wanyama. Simple reasoning would suggest otherwise.

Why are we discussing a future fee for a player we may ir may not sign. Lets wait to see if he comes and of course score goals.

And there'll be a signing on fee for Finnbogason, should he sign for us.

This. If we were signing the player, we should have in time for the qualifiers.

Because potential sell-on value is a massive factor when it comes to whether or not we'll try to sign a player. John Park apparently told the management that Finnbogason wouldn't represent good value at £5m. If he did say that, serious questions have to be asked, imo.
