Not sure why you have seen that as a negative....if anything its a plus he has not signed a new contract - we can afford his wages, I have no doubt about that, its just whether we make the champions league and whether the player wants to come to scotland.

 

We're not buying him cause John Park thinks the guy ain't worth 5m....How can a guy who scores 27 goals in a league which is miles better than our own not be worth £5m??....The job of a striker is to score goals just like the job of a defender is to keep them out, any other attributes are a bonus....I think John Park wants this guy to drop deep like Hooper and start attacks himself. Who knows if Hooper played more on the shoulder of the defender he might have scored double what he did....As we keep hearing from our manger, "we make a lot of chances in games", so should that not send the alarm bells ringing that we need this type of player? Our midfielders will make chances all long so we need a poaching striker not an "all round striker" so to speak

 

Bull * excuse that about John Park if you ask me ,we aren't buying him because We aren't going to spend 5 million on one player . This frugality is going to cost us in the long run

 

im confused? in the long run frugality will not cost us at all, your basing that on the pretence that we would qualify for the champions league if we signed him, so essentially, we could also win the champions league if we signed him

Unlike all the other strikers we've been linked to, the ball is firmly in out court regarding finbo....we either pay the money or jog on....and it just so happens he would be one of the only ones willing to come to Celtic and iMO is the best striker we've been linked with (the most prolific anyway)

£5.5m for Hooper who scored in the SPL and Lennon holds on for what he believes the player is worth.. now we're getting all * because a club are doing the same to us? Very good..

Either pay the £5m or look elsewhere.

 

Imagine we signed him and got to the group stage. He plays amazing and the press throughout Europe praise him highly. It was great last season when Wanyama * dominated in Europe and everyone took notice.

His team signed him for what? half a mill last year? They also got saurez for around that (650k iirc) a few years ago, there has to be the 'next' finn/luis hiding somewhere in an obscure league waiting to be uncovered, I'd rather wee signed heerenveens' scouting team for a mill or 2 then spent the other 3-4m on no namers with promise. Its the only way we'll get to see 10-20m£ players at ph.
