I can't believe people are putting Kaká in this thread. From 2005 odd up until his joining Real Madrid he was one of the best (if not the best at times) players in the world. I guess he is put here because of how much Real Madird paid for him, how much Man City were willing to pay for him and his trouble with injuries.

Kaká could run and run. He had the ability to pick the ball up outside his own box and then travel with it deep into the opponents half. He was strong, being able to hold off bigger players as he moved forward. Couple this with his fantastic balance on the ball, made for a great dribbler. He had great ball control, going round players at speed and also being able to maneuver through groups of defenders. He had the vision to see passes that could in a second split a defence, and the skill to play these passes. He also wasn't a bad shot.

Look at how quickly he covers ground. An absolutely fantastic player when he was on his game.

I have spoken here in the past tense, but I feel that if he moves away from Real Madrid he can recapture some of that form, but he has lost his pace with injuries to his knees.

big players play for big teams. He's been the key man for most of the sides he's played for

Whilst I agree totally with you he was naturally gifted. He was Definaetely over hyped. Great player for the Huns with no great competition in a great Huns team. Did * all for Lazio, due to his injury. More a cult figure for me. Btw he was a good player. Never reached his potential of world class!

John Terry is the one that sticks out. Had the superb Makelele in front of him and imperious Carvalho beside him who helped cover his shortcomings. He has since been found out.

David Trezeguet too. Never rated him!

I think his record as a striker & his leading the line were/are
    there to be seen.

It seems churlish to try & rubbish a player just because you
    probably/possibly don't like them.

Can't agree with Shearer. What a boring * end * of a man. But was a fantastic striker. Not overrated at all. I think.

Definetly a candidate for No.1 that plays currently.

Shearer yes I agree with, good scoring record but his all round play was awful. I mean he'd not really fit into the modern game with what strikers have to do, all about pace movement and link up play.

Anderson - Remember when Ferguson thought he was the future of United midfield.

Shearer is a good shout, pretty much a glorified Kris Boyd.

No ability whatsoever, just a random hoof every now and again because he never left the box.

How can a guy who scored almost 400 goals at the top-level have 'no ability whatsoever'? :smiley-laughing002:

Shearer was quality, one of the best finishers in history.
