I always rated Valdes as better than Casillas who is also overrated. Spanish goalkeepers are always overrated David de Gea is a prime example.

    Pepe Reina.

Dreadful keeper, nowhere near world class and never was.

A midfielder who has scored almost 250 goals in his career? Can't really argue with that. He's top-drawer.

The fa cup final injury for spurs (obv his own fault)
hampered him tremendously,he had the 5/10yd speed before
    the injury,but not after.
All the truly great players (imho) have the initial 5 or 10 yard burst of speed to get away from opposition players & look up & see what's happening/ available.
Gazza for all his faults & failures was still the best England midfielder
    of his generation.
He was so naturally gifted as well, compared to the factory farmed one
    dimensional "stars"

Ibrahimovic, mediocre scoring record in Europe.

I wouldn't disagree with that, but there is still no real sense of at least embracing the reality that at International level they just are not that good.

    Is that a joke?

    Ibrahimovic if anything is UNDERRATED

He is a fanatastic finisher, good in the air, superb technically and he's a good character :icon_mrgreen:

I watched him regularly when he was at Inter, he was just spectacular

I'd say (minus Messi and Ronaldo) Ibrahimovic is the best striker on the planet. He's an absolutely exceptional player.

Something like 9 league titles in 10 years in Holland, Italy, Spain and France. Scores goals wherever he's gone too.

His European scoring record is far from spectacular.

    Ajax: 9 in 27.
    Juventus: 3 in 19.
    Inter: 6 in 22.

Mark van Bommel is another; vastly overrated.

One of my candidates is Wesley Sneijder. I know that this guy was brilliant for a short while, but why he has been hailed as one of the greatest on the planet i'll never know. He has been garbage everytime ive seen him.

Absolutelly not the most overrated of all time though.

Maybe for his first few clubs, but for Inter, Milan and PSG we was the main man and the man whom their respective teams were built around.

Ibrahimovic's knockout record in the CL is *. That's where the overrated claim comes from and it has some truth to it.

Is he really a 100k+ player? I think not.

He's not overrated though, everyone knows he's rubbish! :smiley-laughing002:

Welbeck is a useful player. He's fast, strong and hard working and those attributes meant he could hold the ball vs Real Madrid and prevent Man U from getting swarmed.
