Dominated the second half. Should've given Amido some time then as we rarely had someone in the box capable of getting on our crosses. Maybe Lenny thought it was too big an occasion for him but I think he could've contributed.

    Commons played brilliantly.

Chuffed tonight. A win and a clean sheet. Wouldn't have minded another just to feel a bit safer but i think we'll do it over there. Looked a bit rusty again, although its amazing what a goal can do, thought we looked far better after that. Would play super Joe if fit ahead of Kayal for sure. Also it's evident we need a striker, but i have faith. Hope Sammy is ok, got the * kicked out of him i thought, among others. And on the 2 swedish physio burds, if i was in that team i'd be injured orra time!! :50:

    Pretty turgid stuff that.

I think they offered very little and are pretty ordinary, they came to spoil the game, foul and waste time.

1st half and much of the second, all we seemed to do was launch the ball high at Samaras and Forrest, I don't know if this was a tactic or a lack of ideas, but it was * me right off! We controlled the game a lot better in the second half and kept the ball on the deck more. Always looked like one goal would win the game and so it proved.

Ambrose is still a complete bombscare at the back for me and I forgot Kayal was even playing until he got subbed. Completely anonymous!

Man of the match without a doubt was Samaras for me, absolutely magnificent for me and the one genuine class act on the pitch.

The 2 massive holes left by Hooper and Wanyama already stand out a mile for me. I worry who is going to get the goals for us in Europe and we were so blunt up front tonight it was unreal, Stokes just doesn't seem to be able to pick up the pockets of space against better defences the way Hooper does and Kayal simply does not look like the answer, Ledley and Brown in the middle has to be the preferred option.

Still, an average performance gets us a win and a clean sheet, I seen nothing from them for us to fear over there.

    Thanks guys :50:

We are not too bad on artificial pitch. My mate said we are unbeaten on artificial but not too sure.

Hmm, decent. Sammy was outstanding, Commons was good, Stokes was * awful, Kayal was just as bad. But a win and a clean sheet will do, confident in us scoring over there.

Won on an artificial pitch, was it twice, in the CL last season ?

    Not a major concern.

Some people on here are too negative, it was a decent performance and a decent result, as I'm confident of getting at least a draw in Sweden.
I felt sorry for Bangura before the match, but after that shocking attempt to get big Kelvin sent off he can get tae *. Never want to see him an a Celtic shirt again.
And on Elfsborg: Disgusting performance, filthy players fouling us every time we came forward. I'd never even heard of them before this match, but I have developed a strong dislike for them.

Should have expected some * to be still on here moaning after we won and kept a clean sheet against a team 17 games into their domestic season :smiley-laughing002:

We've just finished pre-season and beat a squad of part timers to get to where we are tonight. I'm happy with that.

Samaras was decent but he wasn't what people are making out he was. IMO Commons done more.

Can't see them scoring 1 never mind 2 even at home, looked as though they had * all going forward. Performance wasn't great but a win and a clean sheet isn't a bad result at all and I have no doubts we'll score over there, hopefully early and put the tie to bed.

We are desperate for a decent striker.. Big sammy is brilliant but hes not much of a goalscorer. We need a hooper type player

Samaras impressed me the most...once again in Europe. * knows what we would do without him at times.

I just assumed it was because he wasn't sensational.

Don't think he was poor as such but I thought the only player who was very good was Samaras. Forrest was atrocious :smiley-laughing002:
