    The likes of Djurgardens, AIK, Malmo and Helsingborgs are bigger than Dundee United. The Swedish league is much better than the SPL.

    Who cares which league is bigger or better. On the contrary: we all know the SPL is *, but despite this, Celtic has millions of fans from all over the world. There is no other club in a league similar to the SPL that is more famous and more admired than Celtic. I don't think Swedish clubs have many foreign fans.

    The total of Celtic fans may well exceed the total of Swedish residents.

    AIK is the biggest by fanbase/arena (50 000) Second comes Hammarby (2nd div team) And then its even between Gothenburg/Malmö/Helsingborg. Elfsborg is a outsider when it comes to fanbase, but they are the best team in Sweden when it comes to consistency(spelling)

    Probably now as a whole your right,because the Scottish game has slipped so drastically..

    When these teams were on a more even keel back in the day Aberdeen,Dundee united were probably bigger and celtic are and the dead lot were always bigger than anything in there league and we always will be..

    There league has surpassed the spl for clubs size,attendances and general players..

    When I was watching elsborgs European highlights last week ingot the impression they were a tiny club,well support wise anyway as they had 2 standing I think ends behind both goals completely empty..

    I know there opposition was poor but the staidium doesn't exactly look big

    Why are you talking about fans ? I know fine well Celtic are bigger than any Swedish side. Our fans won't beat Elfsborg. That is down to the team.

    Swedish football has suffered the last 15 years in quality, but in the last 3 years the league has improved at a fast rate. The league will pass both Denmark and Norway very shortly. New stadiums getting built everywhere etc. But Celtic should beat Elfsborg with ease imo.
