I personally don't think it's madness at all.

I think both are better options than what we have. I'm not just going on the 3/4 games for us either.

I suppose It's all down to opinions at the end of the day, and that's mine.

we do not miss him one bit, he will do well to make the bench for the rest of the season, and he only has himself to blame for that, decent squad player maybe, but is he going to be happy with that ??

stokes hasnt been at the races since christmas. He has no right to be in the starting 11 now. His second half performance at dens park summed him up. Add to this coming home a day late from a trip to Ireland is school boy behaviour, who does he think he is? No player is bigger than the club and that sort of action just shows what a * he can be.

'Lunacy'...'madness'. The two of them have started 3 matches and played well in all three, with both putting in great performances in what was the biggest game of the season so far. It's certainly not mad to suggest they are part of the strongest 11. Surely you must be more excited at the prospect of GMS or Armstrong starting ahead of Stokes?

Stokes must have played 25 games in the first half of the season and played well in nearly all of them, including Europe.

So yes, to claim two players who have about 400 minutes between them as being "part of our strongest 11" is * madness and just as idiotic as the clowns who come on here and slate players after a bad defeat.

Accidentally missing a flight hardly makes you a *! I've done it once.

Early days but Armstrong looks a better player than Stokes.

Ah yes, you are right, I must be *. Anthony Stokes had absolutely nothing to do with us qualifying from the group stages.

    Silly me. :87:

The problem with Stokes is that his position doesn't exist in Deila's system. He's excellent as part of a front two, but he's useless as a lone striker and mediocre as a winger.

Sean, I respect your opinion. But Stokes shouldn't be anywhere near out starting 11 in Europe. Mackay-Steven is right now the better option on the left. Stokes doesn't perform in big games, par the one against Shakter. Which is a shocking team tbf.

It's up to Stokesy to rise to the competition that new signings have brought.

I like Stokes and was the front runner for POTY at one stage, why do people enjoy writing off proven players so much?

However Armstong has seamlessly fitted in, and does seem a better fit into the system Ronny wants to play. And Stokes picked a very crucial time to be unprofessional.

Stokes will continue to play his part, but needs realise it's a short career and he must continue to work as hard as he did initially under Ronny.

i once missed a flight too. Last year in Ibiza, we missed our flight by accident, didn't help we were all half cut in town when we were suppose to be boarding.

Point is- unless of unforeseen changes you don't accidentally miss a flight. I travel a lot & can safely say when its business related(which this is) i've never missed a flight.

your quite right as well. The two pre qualifying ones was against part time people that doesn't count. The two games which mattered Legia & maribor he did fuckall. Same to his previous years in Europe.

Am not saying he's a bad player, before christmas he played well. He just doesn't suit the system anymore & when he has got a chance recently he's been horrific.

This is spot on and its been evident from the minute it became obvious Deila was only going to play with 1 up front. Griffiths was almost surplus to requirements due to Deila's system also. He was put out wide earlier in the season and struggled badly but fortunately he was given a chance to play as our main striker and he proved he was up to the task.

    Nail on head.
But you will never convince the Celtic Groupies on here who go slobbering and slabberring after new signings after one or two appearances.

Deila has picked a very significant time in our season to throw the book at Stokesy for missing a flight due to strike action, and Deila may well live to regret this moment of madness.

Who was it that stated he'd be in the team today because he had a good excuse?

Looks like Ronny and John take no *.

Stokes was one of few players who were actually playing particularly well before Christmas. If you look back in this thread that was the general consensus.

Now he's had one bad game against the Huns and barely played since and there's no place for him in the team?

Some of the people who are now saying he has no place here/isn't in our best 11 were saying as recent as 6/7 weeks ago that he had been our most important player this season! Unbelievable.
