I can only remember one goal against Rennes in November 2011.

 

Ok, I was a bit drunk writing that tbf. But atm I don't think Stokes should be in the starting 11 when we have Mackay-Steven, Guidetti and Griffiths.

 

Was almost sure it was 2 in that game and he has 2 assists already this year. * in Europe yea ( even if he gets played out of position most of the time ) but he's a dependable preformer domesticly which is just as important there would be a good few out the door 1st

 

Scored two in that game.

Regardless, it's evident to everyone that he's not good enough for European football. Anyone that argues otherwise is deluded.

 

Tbf to him he hardly played against them. He started in Lenny's first one as manager and was terrible, lucky to not be sent off within a few minutes, then I can only remember him starting one more? He got hooked after cha got sent off pretty early on? I remember he came on and one a penalty against them which would of all but won the league if it had went in.

I don't understand the calls to punt him, there is a lot of mediocre crap in our squad that should be going before him, if stokes is happy enough to stay here and fight for his place then that's a good thing for us, very good player to have in the squad.

 

Don't think anybody would argue he is good enough for Europe but he gets involved in 20+ a season don't see Amstrong or anybody else matching that from his position's we wouldn't even get much for him probably

 

He would have to earn his way back in by taking any opportunities. Right now he is not first choice.

 

As a player I wouldn't want him sold. Calling him a flop is harsh but he's not as good as some people make him out to be.

If he's * about and being unprofessional then get him punted.

Btw is the "Commons is * and past it" brigade moved onto Stokes now?

Still a fine player who will contribute goals and assists. While he may not have proved himself in Europe, primarily because of the counter-attack style we deployed under Lennon that blatantly doesn't suit his game, he is excellent for us in Scotland and has been since he joined.

He is at his best when he has players close to him where he can link up and use their movement to create space for a passing/shooting opportunity.

Stokes isn't brilliant, but has consistently been one of the 'supporting cast' of players since he joined. No need to get rid of a player like that.

 

I don't think anyone's calling for him to be sold.


Just stating that he's not in our strongest 11 therefore won't start

 

Still rate Stokesy but so far Armstrong's looked much more capable for me.

Think Stokes was better at getting back though.

 

don't really rate stokes that much, Armstrong is definitely looking better so far

 

Because we can easily get better players in i.e. GMS and Armstrong for the same money.
