He's already 23 years old, not that young anymore. 12 goals in 69 league games.

8 were scored in the second-highest division. Not saying he is crap, but he doesn't seem to be a predator at all.

If he were 18-19, but at 23 he seems a bit over the hill.

That is a shocking scoring record and is older than I thought. Score that one off the list.

    Maceo Rigters

Celtic are preparing a £350,000 bid for NAC Breda striker Maceo Rigters. (The Sun)
Maceo Rigters (born 22 January 1984) is a Dutch footballer who currently plays for NAC Breda. Rigters is a forward who was born in Amsterdam and made his debut in the professional football squad of SC Heerenveen in the 2002-03 season. He also played for FC Dordrecht before joining NAC Breda.
In 2007 Rigters was called up by Jong Oranje coach Foppe de Haan to be part of his squad for the 2007 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship held in the Netherlands. Rigters participated in both of their first round group matches against Israel (1-0 win) and Portugal (2-1 win) to secure a semi final spot and to qualify for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Rigters had a great effort in the win against Portugal as his breakthrough in the penalty area gave the Dutch a penalty kick which was scored by Ryan Babel. He also scored the Dutch second goal of the match after a Royston Drenthe assist and was named man of the match by UEFA.
On 15 June 2007 it was rumoured that Celtic we're closing in on his signature, and he is set to sign in a £350k deal. Additionally, Newcastle United are also rumoured to be interested.

I would say Newcastle being interested would be a good thing, but they were interested in Kenny Miller.

Strange bid, because in his contract is saying he can leave for 300.000 euros (£200.000). Although I don't hope Celtic will sign him because he is *. He only played two good games this season and they where at this -21 tournament.

We should go for Hunterlaar instead!!:celt_2::celt_2:

I'm afraid that due to EPL massive mega bucks TV money, this is where Celtic are generally looking at.
    Potential, Potential, Potential...
With the odd seasoned pro such as (Gravesen, JVoH) Appiah, Frei or perhaps the 2x Italians.

I don't know anything about this guy, but Sno was a good find & even we can afford to spend £300k on potential that has been well scouted - he may well be one for the future ala Sno.

Sno is much younger and was a big talent in the youth ranks of Ajax and Feyenoord. Rigters is not. He more a player for a midtable club in Scotland, not for a club who wants to be champions.

the dutch market probably offers the best value in europes top leagues but i'd say theres better talent to go for than this kid, albeit they would be more costly.
