I know, him, Gerrard and Paulinho were a toss-up. I did have Vidic there to start but he hardly ever plays now and its hard to tell if hes still good. Theres not much other options.... Ferdinand is past his best, Nastasic is young and not that good, Evans :smiley-laughing002:, David Luiz is error prone, Cahill :56:, Dawson, Skrtel, Mertesacker.

Same in midfield there isnt many options there either Gerrard, Paulinho, Carrick, Ramires, Lampard, Dembele, Lucas, Fellaini, Cabaye, Barry etc

Cavani is worse in that role than Lucas, Lavezzi and others.

No hes not, Cavani is a quality winger if he has to play there, can carry the ball, beat players and gets up and down the park for fun. Lavezzi to me is a quality version of Nacho Novo, decent pace and work rate but lacks technique his crossing is absolutley woeful and his shooting makes Sebo look like Gary Hooper.

The Premier League really has declined in recent times. The German and Spanish line ups are far superior. The Italian one is not bad either.

The Premier League badly lacks quality in centre-back and centre-midfield compared to Spain, Germany and Italy.
They have let Ferdinand, Terry and Vidic the 3 best centre-backs there for a while get old and havent replaced them with similar quality. Same in midfield, they have let Scholes, Gerrard and Lampard do the same without world class replacements. Plus they lost the likes of Mascherano, Song, Alonso, Fabregas and Modric to Spain and never replaced them. There are only really 2 world class centre-backs or centre-mids in England Kompany and Toure. Back in about 2008 there was 9ish - Terry, Ferdinand, Vidic, Lampard, Gerrard, Fabregas, Alonso, Mascherano...

    Rafael kompany vidic cole/baines
    Carrick toure
    Bale suarez mata
    Robin van persie

Cech could easily replace de gea but I'm biased.
Kompany and vidic would dominate in air plus kompany is pretty mobile for a big guy. Couldnt choose between cole or baines.
Carrick and toure were the 2 best central midfielders last season, the front 4 pick themselves.

No chance. Lucas and Lavezzi are in different leagues when it comes to carrying the ball forward. Cavani is not even a quarter of the player he is up front when played on the wing.

How about making teams from these leagues outwith the Top 6's?

No Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Everton.
    No Barca, R.Madrid, At.Madrid, R.Sociedad, Malaga, Valencia.
No Bayern, Dortmund, Schalke, Leverkusen, Freiburg, Frankfurt.
No Juve, Milan, Napoli, Fiorentina, Udinese, Roma.
No PSG, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, St Etienne and Monaco(because of the copious amount of cash they spend)

    That'd be interesting
