The championship is a higher level than the SPL. Hooper was a championship player level striker when he joined us as well. If we create the chances Sharp will score the goals.

Hooper Scored 19 in the Championship at the age of 21, Sharp has never scored 19 goals in the Championship. Infact he hasnt broke the 20 mark in all competitions in the past 6 seasons, Hooper has done that 5 seasons in a row.

What ? Give them first digs at our best players whilst we get their fringe players ? Is that what Celtic have become ?

Hooper has the ability to play in the Champions League. I doubt Sharp would be very successful there in all honesty. Hooper is an EPL level striker, he may have improved since we signed him, but that was the whole point. I don't want a player, who should be in the prime of his career, that isn't as good as Hooper 3 seasons ago, nevermind Hooper now.

    Agreed.

IF we sell Hooper I'd rather see us get a striker in the £4m bracket. Something similar to when Rangers signed Jelavic. Someone who would replace Hooper as the main striker.

We need to start replacing people before they leave, really. Ideally we'd have got someone in January to replace Hooper and Wanyama before they left. That way, the players would have had 6 months to settle and the transition would be easier. An idealistic theory, admittedly.

Sharp would be great in the SPL trust me. He was playing for a mediocre Forest side who lacked creativity. If he can score 10 goals in a tough league for a mediocre side imagine what he could do in the SPL with the chances we create. He would be guaranteed at least 15+ goals

Why don't we look in a different league for a striker like oldco did to get jelqvic

We just done that with Amido Balde. Let's give him a chance to see how it turns out. I agree though it would be great to have a Jelavic type player at Celtic. As long as we could afford him obviously.

The only problem with that Theory is that the players the incoming are replacing might not actually leave. Particularly in Hooper's case, Lennon atleast held some hope of him stay on longer at Celtic.

Exactly, lets face it the SPL is won before it's started so there's no point signing Sharp who's too * for Europe but will get SPL goals.

I'd rather we just played Watt, he will get SPL goals.

^ This guy has some common sense about him. ^

Leagues won already, Watts need game time and can bag SPL goals.

Euro goals and/or a stirker that has potential to score in the Champs league is what we need.

If he signed I'd back him completely and hope I was wrong about him, but I'd question our Ambitions as a club if we went for a 27yo average Championship level Striker. We have have just sold Wanyama for big money, and if Hooper follows, then that'll be a rough 17 million in the bank. We should be trying to secure a good young striker who has proven himself in another league, to replace Hooper. Even if we have to pay 4/5 million, I'd go for it.

Doesn't fit in with our signing policy and was loaned out as soon as Southampton got into the Prem. No thanks.

I am sure Hosiner would have been on our radar. He must have been with our scouting system. I don't think we will go for him though he will end up at some mid table Bundesliga side

I'm sure there would be interest from his side if we actually went for him though. After our Champions League exploits last season and Jelavic's success in Scotland, earning him a move to a good EPL side in Everton, Hosiner would be keen to wear the Hoops, I'd have thought.
