No, he's not the best in Britain. There are a lot of top class internationals playing south of the border.

    Cracking player and constantly improving.

Most of the EPL. But then they've played years at the top level in England, competing in European competition and playing internationally.

    Matthews is 20.

Last 5 or 6 games Matthews has been on fire before that a would of started with Lustig who has been excellent aswell.

Are Wales not playing this week? Would have been going down for that.

I would value Matthews even higher than Hooper.

    Definitely a £10 million + player.

Zabaleta is the best right back in this country.

Matthews is one of few players we have that could play at top of his trade.

He's still progressing as a player as well, the fact we got him on a free is madness.

Yes, that's why; Sturridge, Defoe and Wellbeck are the other 3 strikers and Hooper has yet to receive a call up to the squad never mind a cap.

Why burden the guy with nonsense hyperbole? He's a good right back that is getting better all the time but he is not at the level of the right backs plying their trade for the top teams down South.

One of the things I like about him is he has realised that our forwards can't head the ball for toffee so he keeps his crosses low and hard.

Him and Lustig have really stepped it up in the last 6 months, I would like to think a certain Daniel Fergus has had a hand in that.

Nah, eventually, I think Matthews has a higher ceiling than Hooper.

The real big boys in the EPL will be wanting Matthews in a few years. No question.

I'd say Zabaleta is the best right back in Britain the now, been playing at a consistently high level for a good season or 2 now and has been playing consistently well into the bargain, popping up with the odd goal in big games.... but that's just my opinion.

I would definitely agree that Matthews has the potential to be one of the best if not the best right backs around if he keeps improving at the rate he is currently at! heres hoping hes doing it in the hoops for the next couple of years! :50:

Zabaleta is certainly the best right back defensively in Britain right now. Modern full backs are so focused on attacking but I rarely see him being beaten down that right hand side. Looks a good captain too.

In the EPL I think only Rafael and Zabaletta are better than Matthews.
