I was worried last season when we were beaten by 'lesser' sides, and humped by Ajax. But then we navigated the qualifiers pretty well and looked comfortable in both ties.

I'm sure we'll be fine when the serious stuff begins.

We dont suit friendlies really. Teams that do well in friendlies are teams who keep the ball well and pass and move.

Our team is more press, shut down, get the ball and attack at pace. But in pre-season friendlies you dont really do that as thats how you get injured by doing too much too soon before your fully fit. Also why we always play better when Brown plays in games because he encourages more of that when hes in the team, when hes not the standards slip as we play at a lower pace and you cant play that style at a slow pace.

Probably the reason why we've only won 7 out our last 28 friendlies yet we'd never have a record even half as bad as that in real games.

Aye, its usually bad but this one has been especially bad. We've hardly even had a * shot at goal :56::56::56: apart from the 3? goals we've scored I genuinly can only remember 1 shot on target and it was that one Mulgrew hit that was going in the net and it hit Mouyokolo who blocked it, that was about 3 games ago.

Jesus, I saw a tweet saying 3-0 but I was drunk and didn't really take note of it at the time.

It was awful, really poor performance again. Biggest positive was how well Rogic played:50:

I don't know if I should be worried or not. Last year we got humped by teams like Stuttgarter Kickers in the Bundesliga 3, yet we had the season of our lives.

Hate losing to mediocre teams like that right enough.

Yeah I'm the same mate. It seems that whenever we have a 'mare of a pre-season, we go on to do well in the season. Exactly, bit of a kick in the stones getting humped by teams like Union Berlin.

The teams we play in preseason never seem to get the memo that the point is to go out there, concede goals, and seldom look like scoring.

I am a Celtic fan from England who also supports Spurs. Whilst these 4 matches are used for fitness and experimental purposes, i do wonder if anyone could possibly see a team like say Stoke losing all their games if placed in a similar position to Celtic, ie loosing all 4 games to second division. Professional pride would say otherwise. Of course teams in the the higher ranks of the epl would not be playing teams of that ability in the first place.
PS i am sure that everything will come ok for next week, but all the same, this has been somewhat humiliating time for Celtic

"Teams that do well in friendlies are teams who keep the ball well and pass and move."

A fellow poster wrote that above on this thread. Is not that the way we would like Celtic to play, retention of the ball, pass to feet accurately, with good movement. I guess if you only pay £2m for a player , you get what you get.

Trying to think how our preseason form could get any worse.

Maybe if everyone started running around in diapers, picking up the ball, and throwing it at each other's heads.

After 4am, probably time for bed.

Wasent to bothered about the first couple of results as the players were only getting back into it and had only played Crewe so far. But after getting beat 6-2 & 3-0 I'm getting a wee bit worried for Wednesday, this is Cliftonvilles cup final we have to be up for this game as much as they are, if we do play decent football it really shouldn't be a problem to come away with a win though.

    Horrific.

If there are any highlights it'll just be clips of Union Berlin.
