Celtic 2013/2014 pre-season friendlies

I can't believe it! Suddenly the exact same team that won the double and reached the last 16 in a season that finished just 6 weeks ago is suddenly *!

Or so you would believe...

Don't care is its pre season Celtic shouldn't be getting beat 6-2! Horrible defending. Can't see how the team will improve much as the teams we've played are SPL level...

 

It's pretty elementary as a point that, bearing in mind we conceded 2 or more goals in 18 games over the duration of the entirety of last season.

It has been a major concern for some time for me, and countless others.

 

Could not give less of a *. Many on here wrote us off as a European force after we got pumped by Ajax last year. I didn't give a * then. I don't give a * now. Has little to no reflection on our ability as a team.

why is that a guy that celtic rate very highly supposedly as an attacking midfielder always ends up playing right back

every year i keep saying i'm not going to watch a preseason celtic game and every year i fall into the same trap, i must be a madman :nono:

 

I know its pre-season, but I am worried how slow we look up against continental
competition, I understand its early. Surely the two pens were * soft eh? and was
the lad not offside for their second? A lot of work needing to be done, Big Virgil and
Chas asleep at their goals, and why did Lenny stick Dylan in defence? Henderson Kayal
Sammy and Rogic I thought played well. I really really don't want to criticise a new Celt
but I too have my fears on big Amido, he said he's like an Adebayor so why aren' they
playing it to his feet? The only shot I think we had was Commons eh? maybe I am wrong
there, and he tries to create but looks still not up to speed

I want to see faster crisper play, counter attacking is what we do best in Europe, again
its early and the ref * us up but but * me they could have had a couple more
goals penalties or no.

 

'I thought that was the best we have played pre-season, wee dylan had a fantastic game at right back. Van Dijk and Muoyokolo look like a world beating central partnership and Big Balde up front looks like he will tear it up.

All in all the result flattered our opponents a bit, we dominated the game from start to finish.'

* knows when we are meant to start building up confidence and a winning mentality

 

We will play normal formations and tactics in the SPL and real games though.

I just pointed out that neither was the team that humped us last pre season, it was their kids.

* happens in pre season, it's always been about fitness levels for us, trying out new formations and bedding in the new players.

Results are completely meaningless.

That team and their fans celebrated that like a CL final at the end, that will be one of their biggest games of the season while we have bigger fish to fry.

It's the start of July for * sake, our league season is a month away.

The CL qualifiers are fast approaching sure but this is traditionally a very early time in pre season for us.

I have absolutely no fear that we will be fine when the real action starts.

What is got to be remembered is this game is being played in Germany where the players are traveling about in a bus staying in hotels in between rigorous training sessions. We obviously aren't as far on sharpness wise as we should be if we are getting pumped 6-2.

 

To those saying the result is still embarrassing, mind when Sheffield Wednesday got beat something like 17-0 off a non league side a pre season or 2 ago? Thought not, and neither do most folk.

No defeat in pre season is embarrassing, simply because nobody in their right mind should care about the result enough to be able to find it as such.
