So we will owe Groningen 10% of profit = £9,000,000 / 10 = £900,000.

So essentially we will get £10,600,000 which isn't bad.

I'm not sure it's necessarily Southampton that he sees as a step up, and more the actual league itself.

That post shows an inherent misunderstanding of the current business model we are attempting to run.

Signing our "best" player or an "excellent signing" in fact is probably the complete reverse of what we are trying to do.

Not saying we have perfected the model yet, time will tell, but do we really still have supporters thinking we are up for marquee signing in 2015?

PS - All the best Big Virg - appreciate the two years you had with us. One game in Malmo doesn't wipe out the fantastic displays almost everywhere else. Go knock the * out of the EPL and make a name for yourself. Just like bBig Frase and Vic, that will reflect well on us also (sorry for being a bit selfish Virg )

Selling your best player and not replacing him with proven class, is bad for a team. No matter how it's spun.

Right now we won't find out if it's good or bad till a year or so down the line.
