Decent fee, probably includes a sell-on clause as well. I think we all knew he was going this window.

There's been 5 managers to say that he has a honking attitude, I don't think they'd all make it up.

Yea all the best to the big man. One of the most talented defenders i've had the pleasure of seeing at Celtic, and he's still to learn how to defend! Going to a good club with high aspirations. Look forward to seeing him turn out for liverpool in a couple of year's time.

Solid fee, pretty much as expected/acceptable.

    The rebuild begins...

The board said getting in Jozo in wasn't depending on VVD leaving. They even said it doesn't mean VVD would be leaving at all.

We all know that's bollocks but I'm at a loss as I know we'll be too cheap to replace him (as they've said Jozo isn't his replacement.

Still looking for at least one more deal after Jozo and Christie sign.

Ahh well!!! Back to the drawing board we go.

As much as I would have loved to keep him, the day has finally arrived. Hopefully the big fella get the opportunity to push on and develop into the quality player he can be.

Its been reported on Sky/BBC etc a few times - Jozo deal is not continent upon selling VVD. Not sure if they said he wasn't a replacement per say, but they did say the first thing.

With all that youth, we need an experienced guy in at the back, an organiser. Only hope we have something up the sleeve, though i'm 99% certain that isn't the case. haha. Maybe get McGeady in to soften the blow - Everton seem to be on an Att Mid spending spree

Our best player set to leave means this is a bad window for us unless we make an excellent signing, something I wouldn't say we have done yet.

It would be better to judge that over the coming months, when we see how our signing are going to turn out. Did you expect Van Dijk to be as good as he was when we signed him?

Yep, I really thought he would be an excellent player.

Out of our signings so far, I wouldn't be surprised if Blackett turns out to be good, but I don't see him being at the level of Virgil.

Based on what though? Had you seen a lot of Van Dijk prior to him signing?

Pish knowing Van Djik is signing for Southampton on the same day Wanyama will be leaving.

would of been great to see them in the same team

Wanyama's just joined up with the Kenya squad and Southampton say all offers will be rejected. So we may see them for 6 months.

So we're getting in the region of £11.5 million for him? With 10% going to Groningen, so we'll net just over £10 million?

    Not too bad at all.
