    Youl never walk alone.
He will be off. We are a feeder club to the English premier league teams, and it's only gonna get worse and worse.

Good luck Virgil, let's see if you can prove yourself in the best league in the world

only way you really know a transfer is happening is when "sky sources" understand a deal is going through. They are pretty much never wrong.

That's what I go along with too. Don't have Twitter but I'm sure there'd be some reliable sources on there, but a lot of * in amongst it too though. SSN is my 'go to'.

News on Daily Star website saying he's signed a 4-year deal for £10m rising to £11.5m with add-ons.

If this is true then Lawwell didn't barter well enough.

Would love for the deal to be too late and him end up staying!

The sensible side of me is saying he'll be in Southampton by tomorrow afternoon most likely with a fee agreed.

I'd obviously love him to stay but now that we're out of the CL, I think it's good that the new guys will be able to form a partnership and hopefully, if they're good together, will steer us into the group stages next year.

So: would love him to stay but may not be the worst thing if he leaves now instead of next window/year.

If he wants to go and we get a good offer he should be sold. Can't be arsed with guys that don't want to play for Celtic.

I would honestly like to here Tony's side of things tbh! I don't believe all the * that people make up same story's different young player

I'm not saying he didn't have a bit of swagger about him who wouldn't ? But half of the stuff being spouted just seems like made up *. There's far worse to happen to a player than just being big headed

Still no fee agreed according to Sky Sources.

So they have until 6pm tomorrow to get it done, aye...

    Hopefully it falls through :icon_mrgreen:

Hope your right and it falls through although I cannot see if happening now. The minute we lost to Malmo selling Van Dijk for a big profit was on the front burner. I would love to see Van Dijk stay one more season but at least if we get 11m for him we can have little complaint. 2 and a bit years of excellence on the field and a pretty substantial profit based on us paying 2.6m for him originally off the field.

I reckon the board aren't actually in too much of a hurry to offload him so they have a bit of bargaining power to work with.
We could easily hold on to him for 4 months, play him in the EL, he could help our new CBs settle in and we could still get over 10mil for him in January.
For me, it just depends on how badly VVD himself wants to leave.

Good thing is that with the transfer deadline running down, that will give us more bargaining power as clubs will be more like in making hasty decision and panic prior to the deadline closing. If we play hardball, could get a even better deal than whats mentioned. The English loves to throw money at transfer deadline days.
