Stupid woman on sky sports news was saying something similar before the game haha also claimed that there was only 1 change from the side that played malmo.

    * english journalism !!!!! :31::31::31::31::31:

Couldnt give a * about celtic or scottish football

That makes perfect sense sell van dijk for 10million pounds compared to the funny money down there and then to make matters worse THEY think we need the money that much that we are prepared to let him go before the malmo game !! because of course the EPL is better than the champions league

No one england takes europe seriously especially not the europa league
West ham focus on the league instead of europa league in order to qualify for europa league next year

Southampton come calling and we bend over 'oh yes please' as if we should be greatful. Not as if southampton are anywhere near the champions league !!!

Reports in the news that we have agreed to sell him to Southampton for 10.5 million plus a 12.5% sell on fee, not too sure if this is bullshit or this is in place for after Tuesday night.

Unless he is going to sign a new deal this will be good business IMO. He only has two years left on his current deal if he will not extend his stay so we can recoup money like we did with Petrov.

Or we will lose out like we did with others in the past. It would be a blow if we make it into the champions league but I'm sure we will have a replacement lined up, one on the cheap if we don't qualify and another worth a little bit more if we do qualify.

This is why we will never get better. As soon as we have a player on our hands we sell them on and do * all with the money we get in return. Sad day that we are a feeder club for Southampton.

You can't blame him though. Southampton will double his wages and he will be playing in the best league in the world.

    Thanks for everything Virgil

I think everyone knows he off after Malmö game or before windows shuts.
I fully expect him to play Tuesday and give his all

Your correct in everything you say!

Surely to * if we get past Malmo Ronny gets the full whack to spend (I know that's not the case) but if VVD goes IMO we need 2 CB! A LB. a LM and striker in before window closes!

Worst fear is we don't beat Malmo and we try and get through to January with Boyata and Efe as our CB:31:

Most of the time, I've been wrong once or twice. People just don't like the truth

I'd like to think that Ronny surely, SURELY has a replacement lined up for him.

The company I work for does maintenance work at lennoxtown (minor repairs etc) and one of the guys has got really friendly with people up there and he was told the £11m from Southampton has been on table since 4/8/15 (how people other than Lawwell) would know that is beyond me but anyway he has been told we have 3-4 deals ready to go if we beat Malmo! This is same guy who told me about Allan the day before papers got it and I didn't say anything as I couldn't be bothered with the usual "aye got a source mate" bullshit you get hit with but would like to think we will sign at least a CB if Malmo beat us! But would love to know who the 4 players are names he heard were Mechele, Michu, bossaerts and barker but don't know if he is pulling everyone's chain!

Pretty depressing thought that Tuesday night will be the last time we see him in the hoops :54:. Can't grudge him his move though, it's clear as day he's far too good for this level so it was only a matter of time he made the next move in his career. Also heard that Southampton wanted him in by last week and he said he didn't want to go until after the two Malmö games so if that correct fair play to him for that. Would wish him nothing but the best in the future.

We just need one more collosal performance from him now, see us through and say goodbye properly.

We hit the jackpot with Virgil. It's scary that within a few months, the strongest area of our team will become an area that needs addressing most urgently.

Here is the thing Kieran if we don't beat Malmo will we address it? Will Lawwell open the biscuit tin cause even if we don't beat Malmo we are going to be playing Sunday/Thursday from September until December!

    Gk

    Gordon
    Bailly
    Fasan

    RB

    Lustig
    Janko
    Fisher

    CB

    Ambrose
    Boyata
    O'connell
    Mulgrew

    LB

    Izzy
    Tierney

    Sitting midfielder

    Brown
    Bitton
    Rogic

    Front 3 midfielder

    GMS
    Forrest
    Commons
    Johansen
    Allan
    Armstrong
    McGregor

    Strikers

    Griffiths
    Ciftci

That doesn't look a squad capable of circa 25 games between now and 1st January! Need to strengthen ST and CB regardless of outcome
    On Tuesday IMO

I'm certain we will be looking at central defenders and strikers at the moment. Van Dijk is obviously leaving, which will give us around £10m and leave a huge hole in our defence. We will buy a defender with that money, but you'd imagine the calibre of signing may depend on which Group Stage we're playing in.

If we qualify for the Champions League, and can move on Stokes and Scepovic (who both appear to be out of favour), I'd expect to see us make moves for a nother striker.

A lot of 'ifs & buts', but our Summer business isn't done yet.

that centre back position looks incredibly weak without Virgil imagine qualifying and finding no replacement lol going into the champions league with them centre backs minus big VVD.

A full back and a Centre back for me is a necessity.

Would agree mate hope our business doesn't depend on CL qualification though don't know if Lawwell would risk the wrath again this year?

Heard exactly that from an individual a few weeks ago. Looks like it will be Virgil's last game on Tuesday despite what the Mirror have reported.

Not Van Dijik related but same individual claims that we are looking to build an indoor 11's venue at Lennoxtown as well. Ronny has spoken about facilities in a recent interview.

I don't think there's any denying our business DOES depend on CL qualification, is there? The extra revenue the competition generates is crucial for us. Without it we effectively rely on player sales.
