I reckon Van Dijk could start up front for us if we didnt need him at the back

 

It's rare that I get carried away with a player but he is an incredible talent. Under the right coaching I honestly think he could turn into one of the best in Europe. An absolute pleasure to watch him.

 

Had to play him there for half a season in my fm game and he score 20 goals lol so he probably could

 

Honestly he would be deadly playing the lone front man role.

Bidding should be starting at fifteen million. Not many centre backs in world football as good with the ball at their feet.

 

I thought Gordon Strachan had a great quote after today's game. He said VvD is "like an U-18 player playing against U-12 players". He really is. I'm not saying he's the best player Celtic have had in the past 20 years but I can think of no Celtic player in the last 20 years who strolled their way through matches the way van Dijk does. The guy never breaks sweat, he is just so far above the players he's up against in our league. I love watching him play.

He's going to be huge loss when he goes.

 

League is far too easy for him you can even see now he's getting bored of it

 

I'm assuming he's on his way and mean his next manager to be honest. Not Martinez I'm quite sceptical of his defensive knowledge.

 

It's why I do think Southampton could me a good move for him. He'd effectively be a guaranteed starter, and learning from a great Dutch defender of years gone by. He could play at a higher level, though, I'm sure of that.

You think Everton would be a better fit for him than Southampton?

I think he could be a starter at Arsenal or Liverpool, but Southampton seems like a smart choice for him. Less pressure, more game time, a few familiar faces, and one of the Netherlands greatest defenders coaching him.

 

I think we'll get more money if two * are in for him.

That drag back today isn't what cb's are supposed to, or be able to do,
& it wasn't a lucky trick, he knew exactly what he was doing.

He's a class above most defenders & I include the epl in that.

 

Southampton fans seem to reckon they'll get him for less than £10m. I'd be gutted. We need another bidder in the frame.
