Agree, theres probably been no bid made. Transfer speculation in papers is the biggest load a * there is, the easiest for them to make up since clubs 99% of the time say heehaw about any transfers.

For some of the prices their players have been sold for its a slap in the face. Hopefully a bigger club come in with a serious offer or he stays.

    It might actually be *.

Southampton seem pretty fair in the market. I believe they'd be willing to pay £12m just to get him speedily and be done with it.

The express always seem to be bad as well.

The fact they have put down that 'Southampton looking to beat Man United and Arsenal to the signing of Celtic star' in previous articles makes me believe even more that it's *.

When was the last time Man United have been linked with him? It's just one of those generic transfer stories, I think.

We all know there is interest in him but once it goes quiet for a while they feel obliged to post up another 'fresh' link.

Think things won't move until stones gods to Chelsea. Then, hopefully we'll have a bidding war

People talking about this Stones guy going for £30 million +, and they're offering £7 million for Van Dijk?

Just proves that the league matters more than the player these days. Lawwell should tell them to double it or * off.

If Everton and Southampton are in for him then he'll go for 12m minimum. It's not as if lawwell doesn't go in first with a pisstake bid is it?

    John Stones - £30 million?
    Danny Rose - £15 million?

    Seriously?

    Tyrone Mings - £ 8 million
    Nathanel Clyne - £12.5 million
    Matteo Darmian - £12.7 million
    Chancel Mbemba - £ 9 million
    James Chester - £ 9 million
    Angelo Ogbonna - £9 million

Then you have recent transfers for defenders to the EPL.

Surely to * he has to go for at least £10 million

In fairness Chancel Mbemba for £9m isn't that bad.

It's similar to our situation. Anderlecht are the same as us, always losing our top players, he is young with big potential and has European experience, playing in a better league than ours, yet he still goes for less than £10m.

In saying that VVD is no doubt better so the £3m difference could be warranted. I can imagine Anderlecht fans feeling the same as us though.

It's pretty standard to lowball with an opening bid. If I recall the same happened with Forster.
Obviously I'd like to keep Virgil but I can't really see it happening. I just hope Celtic can get a decent replacement/prospect.
I quite like Charlie at CB so I'll not be losing any sleep.

We'll be doing well to get £10million for him. He's a good player but in truth he hasn't been nearly as impressive in European matches as Victor Wanyama was and we only managed to get £12million for him. His performances in Europe are the only thing Southampton will be interested in. The fact that he strolls through matches every week in Scotland won't encourage them to pay over the odds.

The way RD wants to play Charlie can't play MB he is too slow for us to play a high line.

Never heard of him before and googled him there. Seems dodgy he registered with his first two clubs in Africa as being born in 1988 and then 1991 and has also said before that he was born in 1990 and yet his now official birth year is said to be 1994 :smiley-laughing002: how the * can you claim to be born in 4 different years.
