We will get our ten mill , absolutely no doubt about it . Possibly a tad more if a bidding war gets going . Talk of 6 mill is a joke , i would rather tell him he's staying put here for two more seasons and let him jog on for free at the end of it . If he helps us to the group stages it would be worth it financially .

Is there a sell on fee we have to give Groningen ? I've heard varying percentages recently.

Thing is VVD is not an internationalist and has played at Gronigen before coming to Scotland. I think some of these evaluations on here are on the high side, £8 million is probably the most we could get for him.
Would prefer he stayed for another 12 months and sold him for whatever in 2016. We are on the cusp of European progress and we need a decent return from these players even if economic realities mean we a very much a selling club.

The valuations aren't high at all . We have set the price and some * down there will pay it . He was already highly rated in Holland hence why we paid nearly 3 mill for a 21 year old. 10 mill minimum now .

Wouldn't take anything less than 10. Anyone saying he's worth more than 13 are talking *

£15m or nothing, considering we paid almost £3m to get him here.

Groningen are also due some money if we sell him apparently.

    I agree.

Who has set the price? the supporters?

If you have a link of either PL or RD saying 10 mill then fair enough.

Gareth Bale isn't an £85m player either.

He's worth whatever rich clubs want to pay for him.

£15m is nothing even for the dregs of the EPL, like Stoke and QPR.

They pay that much because he was bought off of an "top" english club who don't really need £30-40, we need money in the sense that we can't risk losing any and will probably sell him for 8 mill, remember when wanyama was meant to go for 20+ million.

I personally never thought Wanyama was worth £20m, but technically sound, skilled centre backs that are as good with the ball as their feet as Virgil are more rare than big central defensive midfielders who happen to be strong and good at dominating the midfield.

He's also still young and not even close to hitting his peak as a player, so he could yet go on to become a top centre half for a big European club that is consistently playing CL football.

Therefore, I think it's reasonable to suggest that we could get more than for VVD than the £12.5m we got for Vic.

I doubt we will get anything more than ten for a player who has been meh for us in europe when we only got 12.5 for a player who consistently shat on teams in europe, one of them being the best team in the world.

But it doesn't work that way in Scotland. He hasn't proven himself against top quality yet therefore I doubt anyone will pay anymore than 10 for him

Lennon's defensive way of playing in Europe suited Vic though; that game against Barcelona in particular, when we were camped in our own half for almost the entirety of the contest.

Deila has an entirely different philosophy on the way that the game should be played. We saw this against Inter when he showed absolutely no fear against, historically, one of the top teams in Europe.

I have absolutely no doubt that if you put Virgil in Wanyama's position, we'd have achieved the same results in 2012/2013 and still got to the last 16.

But if you put Wanyama in VVD's position, do we still have as strong a defence? My main point being, Virgil is as good as Wanyama, a similar age and is also more versatile. That's why I think he's worth more.

Wanyama played in defence for us many times, not in europe but vvd never played in midfield in europe so that argument means nothing I think you're arguing for how much you think he's worth rather than what english clubs think he is. In the end it's all ifs and buts the facts are vvd hasn't been that good in the top stage where wanyama was excellent english clubs aren't going to pay money for maybes.
