Noises about Ronny and Lawell meeting Dedryk Boyata yesterday. Would rather have Denayer.

I think he's a certainty to go but I think we are more than capable of getting a fortune for him. I honestly think Chelsea will be the only team down south not looking at him.

Hopefully some big European teams come in as well (if he's going to go). I don't see why we can't get more for him than Wanyama considering how well him and Forster have performed after going for big money. Just need to demand it.

Every time I see this thread bumped, I hope to read he just signed a new contract or will see his current contract out. :54:

He should sign a new contract and get paid up there with the best at the club, then move on in 1 or 2 season, if he thinks he's got it he'd know it won't harm his career looking * hot in Europe for us and cantering the spl.
    I hope any how

No chance, we've spent decades getting hee haw for our biggest talents.

Aiden started a trend of developing talent then making big money on them, that is now our entire business model.

VVD will go and we'll continue the same way we did when Aiden, Forster and Wanyama left.

Aye, as much as I hate it, players probably come to us to develop and then get a chance to move to the EPL. We are a gateway, a much more direct gateway than elsewhere.

VVD probably thought this when he signed.

I know it won't happen but I'd still accept it :56:

Just wish we added actually re-investing into our business model, something we haven't really done outwith McGeady money.

Aye, I don't think it makes sense business wise whatsoever to lose him for nothing. Especially if he does want away. Keeping a player who doesn't want to be here is bad for the dressing room, and there is no guarantees we would make the CL with him in the team, so we are rolling the dice. I think there was an argument to keep Hooper if we are basing it on money, as we didn't make a great deal from it when we sold him, but Van Dijk will likely go for £10m or more.

    Ronny says VVD is staying

Double-winning manager Ronny Deila believes Virgil van Dijk will aim to help Celtic secure Champions League football next season.
The Dutch defender, 23, has been linked with a move in the summer with a host of clubs reportedly interested in his services.
"He is going to be here. He is not going anywhere before the qualifiers," the Norwegian told BBC Radio Scotland.
"Hopefully he is going to be here for a long, long time."

Can't say I'm as confident as Ronny, but great news if so. It has to be said, with all the noise about him going last summer and again in January, I think the last few months Virgil has really been on top form and looked happy enough. Hopefully he sees a good vision here with celtic under Ronny. Will be grateful just to have him through the qualifiers.
