That is the sign of a leader and absolutely should be encouraged.

You actually think Ronny goes out of his way to tell players to criticise others in their own team? Some team spirit that would create.

Leaders encourage and motivate, not dishearten other players.

He was great today, I like how he become more vocal on the pitch, great FK too. I know there's a small chance, but I would really like him to stay here until next Summer.

If Southampton don't get Alderwiereld on a pernament he'll go there and work with one of his Heroes.

I don't think Ronny goes out his way to say anything of the sort, where are you getting that from?

VVD makes it known when he is not happy with his team mates for not doing their job. He should absolutely be encouraged to continue doing so, we don't want a team of fannies getting a pat on the back for making a * of it.

Not a pat on the back but 'hard lines, you're a better player than that, now lets forget about it and push on for the win' is much better than 'oh my * what the * are you doing, youre *'.

Couldn't agree more a commanding CB needs to be vocal, and usually make the best captains as they organise everything in front of them.

Can you show me exactly where VVD says that to someone?

Did you hear it? Are you a lip reader? Do you have inside information?

Or are you just making * up as you go along?

I couldn't hear him but I was in line with the 18 yard line and you could see it wasn't exactly constructive criticism he was giving him. Hands were up and he was * off firing abuse at him. Not exactly going to spur him on is it?

Fair enough, he was * and what the * was he doing, but dont * say that to him. Anyone that's ever played sport and has some sort of a brain knows thats not what you do.

This is van Dijk and Izzy after the ref gives their penalty

I thought the big man was immense when we went down to ten men.

    You obviously haven't.

What you do is understand which players will take it & which won't.

Then you * whichever one made the mistake & get on with the game,
as they are professionals & are strong enough & well paid enough
    to accept it.

Depends, you a scout for a big team? If so- he's awful, don't waste a penny on him.

If not, he's * immense and one of the very best players we've had over the last 10 years, and arguably (certainly imo) THE best defender.
