He gets away with a huge amount of flak, he could be the worst player on the pitch by a mile and recieve next to no critiscm as there always seems to be a scapegoat to take it. He's clearly a good player, arguably the most talented we have, but not quite as good as he seems to think.

That is the thing though, although he does have bad games now and then he's never the worst player on the park, i agree 100% with that cammy ..

Maybe the heads closing in on January, possibly..

Prime example tonight, efe was better than him, yet still takes the majority of the stick. He's clearly a class above the spfl, he breezes through games barely getting out of second gear and still looks by far the best player on the park 9 times out of 10, but I don't think he's really carried that form over into European football for us. I do think he sometimes struggles at this level a wee bit, despite being a very good player. He seems to switch off far too often in games.

Can stroll through league games but needs to get it into his head that he isn't a world beater and European football is a different kettle of fish.

Anything close to £10million for him would be great business, ideally not in January though. Has undoubted quality but his attitude seems poor at times. One thing I can't stand is players that think they're too good for us, more than welcome to leave if that's the case.

Think we'll be lucky to get anything near that amount though. For example Stefan de Vrij who gets a game for Holland went to Lazio for only £7million.

Wanyama and McGeady went for big money because they proved their quality in Europe. Van Dijk has been part of more than a few European spankings over the past two years.

    3rd time he's scored a double for us, no bad for a centre-half :50:

Every mistake Van Dijks ever made in a Celtic shirt has nothinh to with his ability imo I think its down to him thinking he can stroll it against the opposite team more than he actually can.

The amount of goals we leak in europe if someone wants this (10 million) defender we should bite their hand off.

Got to be our biggest defensive goal-threat since Stan Varga. Already matched last years tally.

Maybe I'm reading too much in to this but after he scored today he was placing his hand over the club badge on his shirt, after the speculation of him being unhappy here maybe that's a sign he's happy where he is?

If only. I'd be surprised if he's here after January. Shocked if he's here next season.

Here's one to contemplate. Do you think Ronny WANTS to sell him ? Lennon sold McGeady to finance his transformation of his own team. Ronny wasn't really able to do that in the summer financially, barring £2m on Scepovic.

Obviously I'm sure Ronny would love to keep him in an ideal world, but maybe he thinks the £8m or so would let him build the team he wants ? Just something to think about.

He's a class act, he strolls thru games up here. You always feel he has another few gears to go into if need be.

The sale of Forster and Watt should have been enough to fund the team in my opinion. They went for a total of £11.2m. If Newcastle did get 20% of the Forster fee, then in total, we received/will receive over time depending on payment structure, a total of £9.2m. Peter Lawwell's exact words were, "every penny will be reinvested." As I've said numerous times, if that is the case, the January window will be an exciting month, not that I'm holding me breath.

If he does go the fee has to be bigger than Wanyamas
