Love seeing our players being called up for International duty as it shows that we as a club don't go un-noticed. VVD & Denayer both called up for their respective countries, great news.

Funny thing is, defence has been the worst part of our team this year as well.

 

To be fair that is mainly down to lack of protection down the flanks and from midfield.
Last night we had Tonev helping the defence at some points - Johansen and Brown nowhere to be seen.
Midfield and our AM need to get back as quickly as they like to get forwards. Needs tightening up in that respect.

 

Aye we are wide open in defence due to how we are setting up, rather than our defenders doing anything wrong, they just don't get very good/any protection.

 

Aye, just find it interesting that two managers of top class teams have looked beyond that.

Good. I´m glad they feel that way. He is good enough for them and, let´s face it, if Man Utd came courting, he´d be on his knees with his * in the air and his underpants round his ankles so fast the slipstream would knock Efe´s spliff out of his mouth.

To be fair, the last point is the first thing that entered my head. Ifhe doesn't rate Van Dijk above Martins Indi, then he doesn't much rate him.

 

Virgil won't be making his debute as international vs kazachstan this friday as Guud Hiddink left him out of the selection of 23 players. He and Erik Pieters will stay with the group though, as The Netherlands will play Iceland on Monday. Hiddink will decide on Sunday which 23 players he will select for that game.

Must say I was seething he didn't go to the world cup but the Dutch defence was excellent.
