Don't blame him for wanting away if I'm honest. If the fans can see what way the club is heading, then of course the players can also. To retain your best players, you have to bring in quality to show a bit of ambition, we haven't done that. He will be missed, that's for sure.

He will not be missed, nor will any other * who does not wish to be here.

I think he forgets that he is under contract, and will only go if/when the club authorize his release to another club.

So - until that actually happens - he best get his head out of his * and * start producing the quality on the park that the team is requiring.

    * primadona *......

He produced the goods on the park on Tuesday, and was badly let down from other areas. Wanyama also wanted away, is he missed, yes he is. Gary Hooper likewise, he wanted away, is he being missed, unquestionably he is. Whether players want away or not, they can still be missed. As we are finding out. I would take both Wanyama and Hooper back in a heartbeat, and both couldn't wait to leave this cliub.

Their abilities will be missed on the park, but you'd be happy with putging up with players at the club who actively seek moves elsewhere and - for want of a better example - could not give a * about Celtic?

    Nah, no * chance.

That's probably about 90% of our players these days. Kills me to say it.

It's Van Dijk's ability I'm talking about mate. Of course he will be missed. We are lacking in quality as it is, and Van Dijk looks like another out the door. I just can't help but think if we were prepared to bring in quality, we could perhaps retain the top players we have. Every footballer has ambitions, and when the fans can see we are downsizing, I'm guessing the players can also. So right now, I can't blame any of our top players for wanting away. I'm dismayed at what is going on at the club, and I'm a fan. These guys have no real connections with the club though.

Most modern footballers only care about the club willing to offer them the most money. Our players are no different, and most would jump ship in a heartbeat if the opportunity arose, with the chance to make more money.

Attitude outshines ability mate, hence why many clubs over the years have moved on some of the best players in the world.

Listen, I've no problems with that - of course you're gonna have players wanting to earn the best deals and play in the best leagues.......no problem.

But, when you get players who you KNOW fine well are playing like they couldn't give a fuxk cause their head's elsewhere, and you get comments being made directly after a * huge blow to supporter ambitions of playing at the highest level about probably your best player wanting to leave?

Aye nae bother, just kick the fans in the balls when they're down. * cretin so he is btw.

    Kyogo. A phenomenon
He's a kid who is devastated - probably thinking the worst at present. You could see it in his reaction when their 'keeper made the save.

Unless crazy money comes in, he's got too long on his contract for us to simply say "aye ok Virgil, off you go." He'll be fine; he'll get on with it, move on, and still be the best defender and arguably player at the football Club.

I for one would hate to lose a guy that important to us - especially with so little time left in the transfer window, knowing full well as we all do that nowhere near all the money that comes in for him will then go out on replacement(s).

Going by recent performances, we are lacking in both departments.

    I agree.

We can't afford to lose any more quality players from this team. As long as he is still prepared to give everything when he plays in the Hoops, I'm not concerned. If it starts having a negative effect on his performance levels, then I would be worried.

I'd hate to lose him as well, I've made no secret of how high in regards I hold him as a player.

But, if he goes, he goes. * him.

If he wants to go and I would try and get rid of him. But if the money isn't right, he stays where he is.

I know this question won't go down well on here, but is he really as good as some of us seem to believe?

He was a part of the side that got * hammered in the Champions League last season, playing every game in a defence that shipped 14 goals in 6 games, not to mention that he was a part of the team that got * by Legia over two games as well.

I mean, when we sold Wanyama and Hooper they were fresh out of a team that got to the last sixteen of the Champions League, weren't they?

He's proved * all as far as European pedigree goes in my opinion.
