Awk I don't begrudge him his move. He's too good for us at the moment. I really do think if we'd invested a bit more and qualified he'd have stuck around though.

What a load of bollocks. Based on what? You wouldn't be annoyed if our best players by a mile left because you've invented some * in your head about his "heart not being in it"? Think of what is best for Celtic to progress as a team. Selling Van Dijk would be horrible for us.

 

He has already stated he wanted to play at the the highest level which of course is the UCL! Why would/should he want stay at this shambles of a club? Virgil is head & shoulders above the rest of the squad as a footballer he deserves to be playing for a better team than we currently have! We should have:-

McGregor. Samaras
Hooper
With still the quality of Commons, Forrest, Mathews, Johansen, Kayal etc to fall back on as a squad!!

He's had his moments too, was shocking against legia and generally thinks he is better than he is with all his waltzing out of defence leaving us bare at the back when he gets caught out!!! A very good player but we have lost far better than him. If he doesn't want to stay then cheerio big man, being a Celtic player unfortunately means you take the good with the bad. I don't think there have been any solid bids in for him yet, just pure speculation. He has made it clear that he wants CL football though, so he will end up looking very hypocritical if he leaves for a club like Newcastle.
