    I agree it's good to get profit but I would much rather we could build a young team and see a good five seasons out of them. This guy's young we may get another year from him two years of a decent player if he's good that is must be better than watching the likes of iffy just because he's our player.

    After calming down about his lackluster performances against Legia, I think we need to pull out all the stops to get this guy to stay for at least another season.

    I wouldn't have said he was as terrible vs legia as people are making out, the amount of shots he blocked was massive, I would say thats the first i've seen him play a "bad" game I think we are just to used to him being a beast. If someone comes in with 10 million I would say sell in a heartbeat, rinse and repeat.

    What makes you so sure he's VVD's replacement? Even if he were, and he went straight back to Man City, we'd work on getting a permanent replacement in.

    As it is, we're rumoured to be in for other CBs, and we're not guaranteed to sell VVD.

    surely if van dijk does leave we would get around 8-10 mil atleast so I'd say we could then pay for denayer after his loan... Deila said he's too expensive but maybe that's before we sell van dijk, I doubt denayer will be dearer than 7 mil since he hasn't played a competitive match for city's 1st team yet

    Always tried to like him, but i just cant and im not sure why.

    He is a great footballer, but in my opinion he is very overrated. He is usually good and solid in the league, but he fades in the important games, both scottish & european cups.

    Dont know what it is, but it seems that he never really loved it here.

    He looks the part in the SPFL but in Europe he is a mess. I understand he want to play in the CL but who doesn't? He hasn't exactly impressed in Europe that's why I think we would struggle to get big money for him. I think he would go for 5-6 million at most at the moment, not even in the same level as Wanyama.

    I don't know where people are getting this idea of him being rotten in Europe, barring that horror show in Karagandy he was our best player last year in my opinion. I think his performances have went unnoticed purely because we had an absolute stinker of a campaign on the whole and people want to forget it.

    The opening game in the San Siro particularly stands out for me, thought he was excellent.
