Wish we were as good at buy attacking players as we were buying defensive players for Europe. I mean defensive wise Lustig, Van dijk, Forster and Wanyama hold there ground without much trouble but attacking wise they all struggle apart from Sammy when he can be arsed.

 

I think there's a reason to it - it's a lot more difficult to find a diamond in the rough attacking player than it is for defensive players. First of all, they're more expensive by their nature. I think it's due to the fact that offensive stats are much more easily quantifiable - a striker with a really good goals/game ratio will be picked up, but what can you do to find a really good defensive player? Put in a lot of hard work and make sure they're scouted well.

 

I would give lustig pass marks as well

 

Lustig was immense too. Shame they were the only two though

Apart from the Shaktar Karagandy game where he was terrible, which we can discount since he was thrown in at the deep end, this guy has been top class for us. We'll be extremely lucky to keep him for 2 years if he doesn't have a bad game soon! Seems to have taken to the club really aswell, he looked gutted the other night.
