Guy is being written off by some on the basis of one game.

Others think he will be alright because it wasn't his fault he was playing with a donkey beside him, a guy who only last week was being praised to the heavens.

I thought Van Dijk looked pretty good. He won his share of headers, and was comfortable bringing the ball down when he had space.

Also looked a bit of a threat in the oppositions box.

 

Agreed !! It was a massive mistake alltogether with neil lennons selection/formation and his use of subs. I think your very right though, don't know what he was thinking ??!?!?

I think we'll be able to pull it off at home if he manages to switch it up in defence or if he's really worked hard on their partnership. Good thing is lennon is a defensive minded coach.

was shocked how bad the cbs were they seemed very weak against the kazaks slow on pace and seemed to bounce off the front players was shocking performaces and pulling strips is a no go

 

I'd be pulling strips all night if it means we get through.

After the last two performances he should stick to Mary Poppins films

 

I hate signing players from the eredivisie but I really think when he settles in he will be a top player for us.

 

Looks great on the ball but not been too convinced by his defending so far, given away a few cheap fouls.

Early days yet but I still think he'll be a quality player.

 

People are being harsh on Virgil.

 

Its Early days, but he does seem to have a bit about him. Give him time.

 

Thought he done alright today.

He got rolled too easily on the halfway line in the second half and gave away a couple of cheap fouls but all in all he done well.

He has great distribution as well.

Get a pacy defender in there next to him (like Wilson ) and he will do well i think.

 

He's looked not bad so far, but you can tell he is still adapting to the style of the SPL.

It's much more physical and less elegant than what he was used to in the Eredivisie. I'm confident he will come good when he settles in properly though, that was only his second or third competitive game today.

Boerrigter looks a class act and Van Dijk has impressed most fans so far, those two had decent careers in Holland, yes the eredivisie is an attacking league but it's still a higher standard than the SPL so I would be surprised if those two didn't do well for us

 

Agreed. I like Virgil he adds real class and elegance to the back line. Still think Virgil and Steven are our best back two ( Unless Lenny signs another quality centre back ).
