Was going to buy it this weekend, but I'm going to have to boycott the * out of merchandise this season in light of what Liewell has done.

Would look better than this bollox. Why do we persist with yellow when it looks * and has no relevance whatsoever to anything Celtic?
Blue fair enough, but anyone who would seriously get angry about a nice bit of red on a Celtic away top needs a slap.

It's not so much that they have gone over to Nike more as when Nike decided to sell off Umbro last season they went about taking all Umbro's best accounts as they went out the door including Bilbao's. I assume from your tone that you not a fan of Nike kits and I am definitely with you on that one. Crap quality is the norm from Nike. Wish they would stay away from football although of course I know thats not going to happen.

It's not really the same as what most people in this thread who want red seem to be getting at though, is it?

 

Why do you not want red? It's not a hun colour and done in the right way, i.e. Bilbao, it looks awesome.
Red and green are rarely used together yet go so well.

Every home top is a slight variation of green and white and every away is some * yellow thing. Yawn. Why not change it up a little.

 

Because I just don't think red would suit a Celtic top and it is not in our traditions to have red on our tops, beyond that miniscule touch of crimson on one of our earliest shirts. It's just a matter of personal taste.

The reason why Bilbao have that shade of green and that shade of red is because they are the colours of the Basque flag. And yes, it's an exquisite top and a masterpiece of good football kit design.

If you asked Nike to add red to a Celtic top we would get a monstrosity, not something along the lines of that Athletic Club ikurrina classic.

 

Well then we'll only be where we are now anyway! I'd rather see something a little different* instead of yellow and black or black and white every single season
Have no idea how folk are content to continue spending money when you could quite easily buy one top a decade and you wouldn't be out of fashion much.


Note, a little different. I'm not talking purple and silver stripes like those mad kits from the 70s

 

The stuff Nike churns out varies so much in aesthetic quality - compare the top this thread is about, for example, with the gorgeous Pitch Black shirt for example - it's infuriating.

Also, I don't really consider 'fashion' to be a good enough reason to buy an ugly top you don't like.

Still prefer last years black one but i will definitely be buying this.
