Paddy McCourt's contract expires in the next month after which he'll take his unique style of wing play to somewhere less prestigious and more appropriate to his level of fitness.

Sure he could of been so much more but if he did have the fitness to go with his outstanding natural ability he'd have bypassed our level and we'd never have had moments like this:

Paddy was what he was, and we should celebrate that.
Thanks for the memories Paddy, I'll never forget the goosebumps I got seeing the Hearts goal in person.

    All hail the king!

Will be a sad day when he leaves,

PMFA shouldn't be replaced, but continue to be sung, in tribute to one of the most talented men the footballing world has or may ever see.

A wasted few years for an incredible talent. I hope he gets the opportunity to show his full ability to the Scottish public.

I'll miss having someone on the bench who can provide wee moments of magic like he did - and with such personality and panache - but he was never going to be a regular first-teamer.

Get yourself to a decent SPL side and so we can watch you flourish like you deserve to, Paddy. :50:

  9. Was a joy to watch him, the goals at home to Hearts and Inverness were also majestic.

Time for him to move on though as he barely featured last season and he was too subdued too, he passed the ball to much and held position in the middle, he should have continued to just go on a run everytime he got on the ball to try and net more wondergoals.

It has been a few years since he produced a moment of magic like the ones posted, hopefully he gets more of a chance wherever he ends up.Good luck to the man.

Not another thread on him ...never been fit , always happy to sit on the bench and take the money . This is justified by him never putting a transfer request in during his time at parkhead

Amazing talent not suited to the bogman style of play in this league.

Paddy is one I can see coming back to haunt us. I can see him signing for Aberdeen or Hibs and scoring a couple against us when we play them. We need to let him go though, because he's getting paid for nothing, he's obviously never going to hold down a place in the first team so its wasted wages really

Wonderful talent. Just a shame he wasn't up to it physically for the SPL.

Birmingham is the rumour which, if true, would be a good move for him.

All the best Paddy, absolutely no reason for any Celtic supporter to have any ill feeling towards him.
