    Not sure if its 'historical' as such but.... the discovery of North Sea oil.

    Just think how hopeful Scotland must have been back then with the prospect of untold riches, with the belief their would be massive economic, social and infrastructure transformations.

    Imagine the debate we could have had about what the revenue could have been used for and how we believed it would change.

    Mental looking at how little it has transformed us - bar Aberdeen.
