You can still be a quality footballer and overrated. Eg Gareth Bale. It's when people start comparing the two of them to Messi/Ronaldo. Then they become overrated.

I've seen/heard people say that the 5 best players in the world are Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi, Iniesta and Neymar.

People can't say that yet. Yes, he's scored goals for Brazil but it has to be on the big stage. Before this tournament, 16 of his 20 international goals were in friendlies.

He'll probably go one to become one of the best players in his position, but I can't really see him becoming a Messi, Ronaldinho, both Ronaldo's etc (this is based on watching him 7/8 times including once live....we'll see what happens though).

I know people are now gonna say the Brazilian league is quite strong but the defending isn't.

Anyone who puts him in the top 5 best players in the world is of course over-rating him and I'd guess have watched very little to none of him and are judging him purely off media hype, he's only just turned 21 so he has a good bit to go to be anywhere near those players but as someone who watches a fair bit of Brazilian football I personally think he has the potential to be one of the best in the world.

I've stated a good few times he was over rated and I stick by it. However, every time I see him now he is developing and I can now see where the praise comes from. He still has the petulance though, play acting and diving like a clown.

He certainly still isn't the player Brazilians think he is yet i.e. the next Ronaldinho or Pele but he definitely could be and for that I'll certainly eat my own words :50:

As I've said before he has only just turned 21 a few months ago and the hype he has been getting is crazy, so naturally people look at that hype and expect him to be a world beater already and when they watch him and he isn't he gets slated and that's where the over-rated stuff comes from imo.

You have to watch a player more than a few times to get a real sense of what the player is capable of and many people aren't giving Neymar that chance for some reason.

He is far from the finished article but I firmly believe he will fulfill his potential and become one of the best in the world.

Messi and Neymar on top form together is a scary thought

    --Xavi--Thiago--Iniesta--
    -----Neymar--Messi------

Teams from all over the World deserve equal right to qualify.

CONCACAF has a fairer selection process than any other federation and the fact that the US and Mexico both regularly make the Last 16 suggest their group isn't as poor as you would think.

If any needs improvement it's the AFC with the same 4 teams qualifying 9/10 + a play-off.

Why not? Most of Barca`s good play goes though the centre with Alves and Alba to provide the width. Neymar and Messi could be play off each other and the creativity behind them is unreal

Barca must keep a hold off thiago, he can do some slack passes now and again, but his close control/ dribbling can be ridiculously good at times

Busquets is their holding midfielder, Fabregas is further up the chain than Thiago and they play a 3 pronged attack.

It would take a major change in emphasis that isn't going to happen unless they change the entire clubs ethos from top to bottom.

If Pep Guardiola has his way he'll be at Bayern but for me he'll sit it out.

Barcelona have told him to wait and he will be one of their main men once Xavi starts to fade.

Aye, heard he is off to United. Would be some signing for you`s but I would love him to stay at Barca. Has it been more or less confirmed?
