The World Cup itself is not the problem, as I told. The price for the tickets are very fair, 25% of them are destined to the national, and only for them. The price for the Group Stage matches is R$57.00. What is something like £18. The poor people have the opportunity to participated. And in this I have to defend FIFA, they Did very right on this matter.
The problem is the incredible high costs to make the World Cup viable, and the problem of corruption. At least 3/5 of the final cost was because of corruption. It should have cost much less if not for this sickness.

The World Cup is a great competition and may be good for the social aspect, but if realized at the right time and place.
And FIFA choosed a terrible time to realize this World Cup.

Only got a tenner back for a £1 was an in-play bet - was gonna do 6-0 but looked in this thread, saw Tahiti had scored while I was gonna stick it on. Went 6-1 and some how won.

Although Ambrose was beaten in the air, if the Nigeria goalie (who was nowhere near the cross) hadn`t gone beyond the back post he could have stopped the ball going in.

An amatuer goal for Nigeria to concede.

He completely lost his man. He did it again in the dying minutes - he's no world beater at CB but Nigeria must be mental playing him at RB.

Glad Tahiti got a goal, they did defend (poorly) and tried to limit the damage, but also tried to play some football as well which is nice to see. Shame that header near the end didn't go in.

Vahirua is a *, last night was his first game for Tahiti, where was he when they played in Oceania Nations Cup or WC qualifiers with Fiji and others? Player in his thirties who, despite being much better than others, didn't deserve to be there. He didn't fly halfway over the world to play against these wee teams, but he's happy to be there when they reach a tournament like this. Shameless.

Remember a comments section about the Celtic V Barca game and someone (dunno why) brough up Mexico being the most under-achieving national squad ever.

    Something like 113 million population
Most of the population love football
They have had some decent players

Yet, they have done pretty much..nothing!

    Anyone agree?

Laughing at all these Brazilan players saying they are in total support of the protesters, yet every week most of them lodging a extra 100k + in the bank :smiley-laughing002:

I'd say it'd down to infrastructure. Facilities and coaches and that.

Maybe not, but that's what I imagine is the case.
