I'd love to see how good we'd be with that kind of money. I'd keep Lennon and keep the board.. except instead of having £2m-£3m as a max to spend on any one player, we could spend around the £10m mark.

QPR's Wagebill last season was £78million for example. I imagine even teams like Aston Villa and West Ham will have wagebills double that of Celtic. Likes of Newcastle and Everton probably triple and Liverpool and Spurs quadruple, then the top teams probably range from 6-8 times our wagebill.

It's * but that money pays for the wage bill of all but the top 7 PL clubs. I'm pretty sure it's going up soon as well.

We would be able to spend much more than teams like Villa.

Celtic Park full with 60,000 every week plus us having far bigger fanbases than them would get us much better sponsorship deals, also if we got in there the Clubs value would go through the roof so we could generate dozens of £millions in a new share issue, then you'd have all the additional money plus our wagebill would be about 1/4 of what we could afford. So we'd have lots of excess £millions to spend.

Celtic could probably dive right in to the £30million, £100k+ a week player market if we moved to England.

Add to the wages and silly fees and bonuses the fact the agent fees seem to be extortionate down there. Utter madness.

Aye, the press made a big deal about QPR having a bigger wagebill than Atletico.

But the likes of Everton and Spurs probably have bigger wage-bills than Atletico Madrid and Dortmund too, yet nowhere near as good a teams.

Figures for 2010-11 EPL and SPL. (I imagine it's changed a bit since then)

    http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/apr/18/premier-league-finances-club-by-club

    http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/...he-scottish-premier-league-for-season-201011/

Our wage bill would just have been less than the lowest Swansea's (35 million).

Man City's is 202 million is over 6x bigger.

Only Arsenal, Man Utd, Norwich and Swansea have lower wage to turnover ratios, Tottenham and Wolves were similar.

EDIT: IIRC our wage bill was £40 million for Last season.

Which is bigger than the championship (excepting the likes of QPR) and prob round about the bottom of the EPL.

Aye, ours has went down, think ours was £28million last year. And the English will only be going up.

Mental how wages have went up so much in the past decade.

I remember circa 2003-2004, we had the 6th highest wage bill in Britain of all clubs. Chelseas £114m (start of the Abramovich revolution and demise of football). Man United £77m ; Arsenals was £69m ; Liverpools £66m ; Newcastles £44M and Celtics was £40m-£41m.

Brilliant wee tool for the EPL.

Aye, I was youngish then but I still remember like Sol Campbell was one of the first £100k a week players and Roy Keane then Rio Ferdinand when Man U signed him etc

Nowadays abosulute diddies like Ashley Young and Gary Cahill are probably getting £100k a week :56:or players like Adebayor when at Man City and Dzeko and who knows who.

Aye Roy Keane earning £50k a week back then was mega. Then Sol Campbell getting £100k a week was something else. That's why when people talk about Larsson could have left for the EPL riches, I don't really think that was too applicable back then. I mean what was he earning at his peak with us - £45k-£47k a week, thats pretty darn good considering the record was £100k. Would be like one of our players earning £155k a week nowadays. :smiley-laughing002:

Adebayor was actually on £170k a week supposedly. City are still paying £40k a week (minimum) on top of what he gets at Tottenham. :56:

The game is bonkers down there. Imagine the television deals dried up? Would be like an apocalyptic disaster for them man. They would be scunnered.

It is Sky and sponsorship money that keeps the English Premier League alive these days, never let anyone tell you different.

Aye, we are still run in the dark ages really, where most of our money comes from ticket sales and merchandise sales (£40millionish a year). Which without European money is about 80% of our income. In England ticket and merchandise sales probably doesn even come to 30% of any of their clubs incomes. They all probably get atleast 60% of their income from TV and Sponsorship deals.

Sky and the EPL killed the SPL, Setanta were offering SPL £31 million per season at 1 point.

Now it's at 13 million. (Still one of the highest ever in place)

Is Giggs finally hanging up the boots for the no 2 role with Van Gaal? Could still do a job for most teams in the Premiership and he's 40. What a great career that guys had. If it's not winning trophy's he's * his brothers wife along with his own greedy *.

De Boer would be perfect for the Spurs job. Would be surprised if he wasn't there next season.
