Get this Wanyama deal completed and then get a contract on the table for Hooper bringing his wages up to the same as our highest earners if he rejects it then just get him sold pronto. Imo the following players should be your top earners...

    - Captain (Brown)
    - European talisman (Samaras)
    - Top goalscorer (Hooper)
    - Your hard to replace GK (Forster)

Best to sell then use the money on a new striker on a longer deal.

In saying that we should keep him till after qualifiers then sell him,he could play a big part for us still.

and a few goals in each round of qualifiers could push his money up a bit.

Come on Gary just sign a new contract and help the club out a bit. If he's staying then there's really no reason not to sign a new contract.

That would definitely hold things up.

See if we sell Hooper I think Billy Sharp would be the ideal replacement. Similar type of player to Hooper. Couple of years older so he will have a bit more experience. Would definitely get goals with the amount of chances we create in the SPL.

Billy Sharp? * * can we not set our sights a little higher than that?

People said the same when Hooper joined. He joined us from the championship and has ripped the SPL up since. Billy Sharp could do the same. Aim our sights higher ? Who ?

Well he didn't exactly set the league on fire with Forest last season. I quite like him as a player and a guy, but he shouldn't even be considered.

I think we can do better than Hooper though.

Billy Sharp? Thanks, but no thanks.

If Hooper wants to go, let him. I only want players in the team who want to actually be at the club.

There will be more out there who would kill for the chance to play for Celtic.

QPR are closing on a deal for Celtic’s Gary Hooper, while Norwich also maintain an interest in the striker

Manager Harry Redknapp is prepared to improve his offer to around £5million with add-on

Couldn't handle losing both Wanyama and Hooper in the same transfer window.

I would be ok with that, as long as we sign another striker which I'm sure we would.

I'm quite gutted about Wanyama but I wouldn't be that bothered about Hooper.

Whats the chances of getting a striker near as good as Hooper though?

    Pretty good chance.

Said it before, I don't rate Hooper as much as most people do. I prefer Stokes actually.

You should though as hes a lot better than Stokes. I think the chances are slim to none of getting someone better than Hooper. It will be someone the calibre of Stokes or McDonald or worse.

I'm sure people would have not thought much of Hooper when he came in from Scunthorpe though.

We have FAR more money to spend on a striker than when we went for Hooper - it's more possible (i'd say) that we can get someone to either equal or better Hooper.

All about opinions but I think Stokes is a better all round player, more assists, better dribbler, can put in good deliveries and even take free kicks. If he's playing week in week out he'll get near enough the same amount of goals as Hooper as well. The only thing is, Stokes can be frustrating a lot of the time.

    Then again, so can Hooper.
