When will people learn from players like Samaras and Wilson?

Samaras made an instant impact and in his first few seasons he was a quality player then he had a dip in form. Not comparable to Balde

 

Give him a while to settle, he is young and just moved to a different country, learning a new language, settling into a new city and getting to know his new team mates. *, Wilson toke a season to settle and he only moved up the road!

Once he is fully match fit and getting decent service ie Forrest and Commons getting good crosses in, then Ill start to judge him.

 

Very comparable to Balde in that people just wrote him off as a * player and now basically everyone is on side with what he brings to the team.

 

Why do people always say things like 'he's learning a new language'? I dont give a *, Nakamura was here for 4 years and didn't speak a word of English. Your linguistic skills don't determine whether you can trap a ball or not!

 

Totally different situation and players. Nakamura had played in Serie A for 3 years and had played many times for Japan, he was in the prime of his career when he came to Celtic. Balde is a raw, young but talented striker, it's a fact that it can be difficult for players to adjust to a new country and some do need time.

 

This is true, however it could make it harder to settle into life in Scotland in general. If he is unsettled in a new country then it stands to reason that it could potentially have an impact on his performances. Didnt effect Nakam7ra but everyone is differebt. Anyway maybe it doesnt faze him and he is just isnt up to speed yet.

I remain as worried as I was when we signed him.

Very rough around the edges........a work in progress, but his first touch is horrendous to be honest.

 

His touch and hold up play against Brentford looked really good, so maybe he just had a bit of an off day?

 

Feeling unsettled shouldn't affect the way you play on a football field unless its extremely serious ! I'd see the point it he has been here for long it's nothing to do with settling right now the guy just doesn't seem to have the ability

 

Signings who look pish at first generally turn out to be so. Few exceptions of course, but I'm a bit worried about this guy.

I'll give the guy a chance....that goes without saying - however, he needs a lot of work. The good thing is that we can afford a fair bit of leeway domestically (or at least we should be able to afford it.) Which is great for work in progress individuals - which Balde certainly is.

I still remain concerned about him......don't think i'm being overly harsh either. What are your thoughts amigo?

 

I think Balde is a player that is going to highly frustrate me as a spectator.

 

I thought he looked good in the game yesterday. Don't know where all this criticism has come from.

 

If we thought Sammy was frustrating, we're * with Balde.

 

This is how I currently see it, hopefully he can make an impact.
