I don't have strong feelings about Gerrard either way. Push on Lennon clearly seems playful in nature.

80% of the Celtic fans at the game would make it over to Celtic games more than once a season, 80% of the Liverpool fans there would never of been to Liverpool.

Would that be a fair comment?

    I'm not picky.
You think that that push was meant to provoke Lennon or it was with malice?? :56:

It was Gerrard * about - simple.

Plus if it was anything with malice then Lennon would have retaliated someway and the cameras would have been on it in a second.

I think that was just the Cliftonville fans travelling down to support Celtic.

That they are particularly suspect to the PL fanboy culture. Obviously Celtic and Liverpool have massive supports in Ireland - but the seemingly overwhelming number of Liverpool fans at the game was striking.

Ireland going the way of Scandinavia it seems - where incidentally earlier on the same day Arsenal and Man City played to a crowd of 40,000.

Both 40,000 and the 51,000 at the Aviva well above the averages gates of the LOI and Scandinavian leagues.

Ireland has always swayed more towards the PL,so they are not going the way of anything.

Ireland has no professional Football to watch, therefor people will follow Scottish,English clubs for the better (sometimes) Football and big match day experience.(Not to mention Irelands historical links with Celtic).

English top level football has always been popular in Ireland, at least among those who like soccer. Scandinavia has gone the way of Ireland, not the other way round.

Of course it's popular...it's universally popular across the world.

But those were fanboys at that game - it's not Scandinavia where u'd have to fly to attend a game, most Irish fans would be able the attend a Liverpool game weekly.

Liverpool fans in Ireland believe Liverpool fc has strong Irish links because of the amount of people of Irish descent in liverpool , lots of Irish in London does that make chelsea a club with Irish links, total nonsense of course

Clearly our links aren't as important to the Irish as our Irish fans would make out. Can't remember what thread (maybe this one)but there was one fan calling for Celtic to have all our pre-season tours in Ireland due to the popularity and support there.

We didn't show up yesterday. But at the end of the day Celtic reserves 1-0 Liverpool.

I don't know about other fans but I was genuinely embarrassed when I saw how many Liverpool fans there were.

Of course we preceded to not only humiliate them on the field but we also out-sang them off it. Clearly fanboys in the red.
