Seen that Lenny is going to talk to DD about next season and what the budget will be.

Was having a think and presuming he was giving a budget of say £5m following on from the CL campaign last year as well as any money made from player sales and we were to say sell Hooper for £4-5m and Wanyama for £10-12m this would leave us with a potential transfer budget of at minimum £19m.

Obv we wouldnt just spend for the sake of it but the money must be there to buy some real quality this summer.

The money we make wouldn't all go to the transfer budget it will fund things such as the youth academy

If it does then I think Lenny would seriously consider his position.

Surely not though because some of the CL money would cover that given that £5m would be a small amount of the CL money.

Sure Lennon will get some of the money but not nearly all of it. Chances are the transfer budget IS what we have got from champions league and potential sales rather than those adding to it.

That would be way more than what I imagine the budget actually is.

We dont need that many signings. From what we have all that is likely to leave is Gershon, Rogne, McCourt, Murphy, Bangura, Keatings, Miku and maybe Lassad, all guys who never really played anyway. We only need 3 guys, a centre-back to replace Rogne, a wide midfielder and forward and then if Hooper or Wanyama go a replacement for them. £3million would do for the 3 signings we'd want and then if Hooper or Wanyama go £2million apeice. We are only going to sign guys in the £500k-£2.5million bracket, so its not like we need £10million to spend.

I think he would like the chance to move the team forward. The club has invested a * of a lot of money in the youth set up (imo its why WGS left) and if Lenny does not get a fair amount of money he has helped the club make through on field success, I think he would look elsewhere.

I'm not saying he wont get any money btw. Lawwell has always stated that the monies we make will be reinvested back into the club and he deserves the chance to show this. So far, there is not much reason to doubt him. The issue will be where it gets invested. If its in the first team squad there will be no problems. If its not, then imo Lenny will not be too impressed.

IMO we deffo need a creative attacking midfielder, we dont have natural one in the squad and commons is most definately not that type of player and i think we need 2 wide players with speed and trickery.

We dont have the creative quality to break down the top teams in europe who are superb defensively and that was proven this year.

Nor do we have the budget to sign players to break down the top teams in Europe. If we try to attack the top teams in Europe we'd get pumped * out of. Our tactics against them will always be to keep it tight.

We cant even afford the calibre of players Swansea and Wigan buy.

The sale of Ki covered all the transfer business last year, expected those funds to be (left) to be given to Lennon. Would say 3/4s of all CL money would be kept to cover any disaster this year and the discount in STs.

Would say Lennon has about £4 million to spend on any old players. Then some siphoned off maybe £4-5million for a LW etc what the clubs needs.

Would guess 1/3 money made on sales would be used to find replacements.

The players are there mate i like the look of Tonev and think he could cause big teams problems. Malaga and Bremen in for him as well which shows he has ability.

A lot of players come from small clubs before getting a big move and we need to try and get them before they get interested.

A player like Kagawa for example was bought for around 300k euros. We have done it with players like Wanyama, we just need to find players with similar potential in other positions.

They cant exactly keep 3/4 of the CL money and 2/3 of any player sales. And what if we qualify for the CL group stages again??

Rogic and McGeouch are both creative attacking midfielders. Both should be given a chance in their best position before we go splashing the cash on a relatively unknown quantity.

ILTC is right about our European tactics, particularly against the big teams. We aren't going to create chance after chance against the top sides, we will keep it tight and look to set pieces as our main threat.

And by the way, Commons is exactly that kind of player.

Celtic have debts to pay. There is a £12million bank loan that has to be paid off within I think 3/4 years, we also owe £6millionish to other teams from transfers. That kind of debt will be paid off by money we make from selling players.

The small amounts we spend on players £3-5million a year will come from how well we do in Europe.

The bank loan is £10.5million, I think it needs to be paid off by 2016 or 2017 before it starts accumulating interest. We will probably want to make a dent in that while we have made the money we have from the CL. We owed other teams £3.6million, we might want to pay a bit of that off if we havent already.

Rogic - possibly but haven't seen enough of him

McGeouch - I dont think he has the vision or passing ability for the role.

I agreed with the tactics this year in order to get us back amongst it but going forward we need to improve our play and it is possible lol. We're not Stoke.

It doesn't have to be taking the game to bigger teams teams, we could counter with pace which is still exciting to watch and still remain a threat from set pieces. (Similar to the way we played against Spartak away, which i think was our best performance)

Commons is not that player and if you think he is then he's not good enough for europe. He has a good shot but he's not a great passer and his movement is dreadful

If Lennon does not get 10 million to spend before any player is sold I will not be a happy bunny. Lawwell and DD need to back him this summer.
