It's a pretty well-known fact that they both grew up supporting Rangers.

Ferguson is alright, (apparently he hated Rangers for the way they treated him as a player) his dad is a Celtic fan etc

    Moyes played for Celtic.

    So neither are true 'Huns'.

Worth noting Ferguson has been good to Celtic, helping Lennon.

His dad is an ardent currant bun, he was my old mans tradesman at college for a number of years.

However going by that logic Ferguson is a Jungle Jim.

It doesn't really matter to me what they were in the past.

Ferguson will probably always have a wee thing for the filth because of where he grew up, but I'd be willing to bet that he's not much of a 'Rangers fan' now. I'd actually go as far as saying that he prefers us now, when you think of the friendship that he's struck up with Lennon and the way he helped him through our European campaign.

He only ever has nice things to say about Celtic too.

    Nor I.

He gave as much to Celtic as he possibly could, and speaks very affectionately of the club - much the same as the likes of McGrain, Dalglish etc.

Ferguson is an auld *, but fair play to him - I've not heard him say many bad words about Celtic.

    He is one of us.

He was a Rangers supporter as a kid though. No big deal.

Moyes set up 3 goals against the huns in a 3-3 draw in November 1981, he was only 18 at the time and played right back. Think 2 were crosses and the other was a flick on from a corner. McAdam, MacLeod and McGarvey scored the goals. Was looking for a video there but cant find it, sure its on one of the Celtic DVD's though.

Are you saying that Ferguson doesn't like/support/love Rangers?

If you're still a Man U supporter, you don't know much about your famous (ex) manager

Ferguson was ostracized from that disease all because he never followed their bigoted ways. Marrying a Catholic obviously went down like a lead ballon :87:

I neither like or dislike Ferguson but you must admit his achievements are second to none!

If he has something positive to say about Celtic FC then i welcome it.:50:

Think there's any possibility Fergie may be a closeted Celtic fan (despite having played for the other side)? His dad and son apparently were/are. Not saying it necessarily follows that he supported us too, but you just never know.

Like Moyes as a person and don't like Fergie, but fair play to both of them for that. Hope Fergie's shirt raises a lot of money.

@ martin_d: FWIW I'm convinced that we are Fergie's second team (Man Utd are obviously his first love), otherwise that Mourinho interview after Real Madrid beat Man Utd in the CL makers no sense. Think of him as something like holy pope :fear:.
