Just want to give a wee heads up about Monaco. Obviously they fell from grace quite spectacularly and found themselves in the 2nd tier of French football. Having just won promotion back to the French top league, they have just spent £60mil on signing Joao Moutinho & James Rodriguez from Porto and if the media is to be believed it looks like Falcao is about to sign for them for £50mil.

Obviously PSG will have some competition next year.

I would be really disappointed if he went there

Aye just checked - he was the only player I could remember playing for them.

He was pretty good to be honest.

Remember him at Blackburn, was past his best then.

Falcao said recently that he knew nothing about the Monaco link.

To be fair, if there's one side in the world which should be run this way it would have to be Monaco.

Aye, remember him at Roma as well.

How many teams in the French league get Champions League football? Two or three?

    3. First two straight into group stages and 3rd into 3rd qualifying round.

4th gets Europa League and theres another two spots for the winners of either cup.

WIll be interesting to see how this unfolds next season and the one after. If Monaco compete then it could send some big names into the Europa group stages.

Worth repeating what I said about this in the transfer rumours thread, Monaco have an awful lot of obstacles to overcome if they're to have a chance at competing with a well supported club like PSG that has lots of internal and external pressure to succeed.

Not only is the mega money they can offer enticing to players, it's not a bad place to live either.

It would show a distinct lack of ambition from Falcao if he were to join Monaco, in my opinion.

I'd love to see him at Dortmund if Lewandowski is sold, but you're talking in excess of £50m to buy him and I don't know if BVB are the sort of club to splash out on players like that.

Lewandowski is on about 20k a week at Dortmund, that's the sort of territory they operate in.

They've been resigning their key players to larger contracts and will no doubt attract a few solid buys in the upper echelons as well, but Falcao and his gaggle of third party owners are looking for a move to a club that will pay him closer to the 200k mark.

I can't see Dortmund even considering going after players like Falcao, and they don't nessecarily have to to be successful.

Kagawa and the like were purchased for peanuts, developed, and sold on for crazy markups. Dortmund have no other option but to go down that path, it yielded a fantastic back to back Bundesliga triumph and could do so again, but living with Bayern and their resources will always be difficult, that's just the economic reality.

Quite a decent team in Fifa13. Maybe not representative of real life, but when you go Celtic you get paired up against them quite often. Craigy Whyte also has a hideaway out there, I heard he's a life-long Monaco fan :fear:
