Thing is, he should have been used more in the past. Now with the age he is I'd rather we go with someone younger and Commons concentrates on Celtic. If Levein's tactics had been less negative and less biased towards English - based players he could have had more impact. He never got a run in the team.

They're more patriotic than most of us though, towards their football team anyway.

The worst was Marcel Desailly having the audacity to cheer on Ghana as much as he did when he played for France.

I think Townsend actually slagged off either Podolski or Klose for apparently being Polish when they are a lot more German than he was Irish.

He never got a run in the team because he pulled out a squad to go on holiday.

Levein was a nutjob but I felt he was very lenient in calling Commons back up after that. Think he was out for a year and then Levein gave him another chance.

    Doesn't excuse it, though.

The Irish on here continuously spew bigoted racist bile about Scotland on here. The second something remotely negative is said about Ireland it's "Racist! Hun! Ban him! Sick *!".

I remember one of them posted "I hate those shortbread munching type" I replied with "I hate those tattie munching types" - apparently I was the bad guy :97:

Not happy with this as I'd like to see him do well for Scotland, but he obviously struggles to keep fitness levels high and wants to do well for us..

I do get where you are coming from. But being defensive when someone says anything about your country comes part and parcel with being very patriotic.

And to be honest, mate, shortbread munching isn't really offensive. But tattie munching comes from when the Irish ate tatties during the famine, where over a million people died. Kind of in bad taste to say that.

When I'm defensive about my country I'm a "Hun" or a "racist", though.

Tbh I don't think it'll be the last we see him in a Scotland jersey.

For me, he's not been right the last couple of years and it's not been a secret. He's had a few personal issues and now (this season) he's been getting back on track...which a lot of is down to Celtic and Lennon.

I'm glad he wants to just concentrate on Celtic. He's always been a player of 6 months of awesome then the rest is average. Seems like he's finally found a club and manager that suits him and that is fantastic for Celtic and himself.
But imo, if he maintains his form then he may get asked, or may even want considered for Scotland again.

It's a shame for Scotland, but I can't say I'm too disappointed. Celtic come first and I'm glad Kris also feels that way.

If he said Better than a team like Spain, aye, I would maybe think he was a bit mental.

But Ireland?! They are almost as * as Scotland, not all that better.

The man can take a holiday whenever he wants. He was treated shabbily by Levein - the bitchiest and most begrudging man in Scottish football history. For months on end he was Scotland's best attacking midfielder by a country mile and still never made the squad, let alone the team.

Kris' performances internationally generally weren't as good as those at club level, but he's some player and, as a Scotland fan, I'm grateful to have seen him pull on the jersey.

Oh we can take it - 800 years.

You need to take a long hard look at yourself if you can't see why the two are non comparable.

Disgusting comment to come out with.

We're no Spain but we're easily better, I've only realised recently recently how much so. Our results prove it too. The guy clearly has a problem with Ireland too so I thought a few extra laughing faces. :smiley-laughing002:

Although tbf, Scotland are on the up. Hopefully WGS guides them to winning a game soon enough.
