Haven't been on here in a while, but I was just thinking about how when we played the oldco it had that billing as "the biggest derby game in the world".

When/if we play 'The Rangers', will it still be as important?
Of course the atmosphere will still be just as intense as before, but in football terms would it be as big as it was?

Personally I think if we drawn them at home in a cup we'd annihilate and embarrass them to the point of self destruction (again). Would happily put money on 6-0 to the Hoops :icon_mrgreen:

well i was at the under17 game and it was a horrible atmosphere, inside, and out, if and when we play sevco again i think it will be worse than ever.

They'll try and sell it like that aye, probably a big part of the reason why so many involved with the game in Scotland won't call them a newco and want to see them survive/get preferential treatment.

Really don't want to play them, due to the way the media will portray it and we will be lining there pockets. Add to that if it is at Parkhead we will sell it out and it will bring up the usual obsessed *.

Hopefully they fade into oblivion before we ever cross paths.

It'll be a bigger game for the Newco Rangers fans than for us; a club that's only existed for a year or so playing Scotland's greatest ever club is always going to be massive, in my opinion.

Like others have said, everything will be so much worse. When the huns supported DeidCo it was horrific, now that they are foaming at the mouth with their new club Sevco, I pray to * we will never have to play them again. I dread to think about how many innocent tims will be seriously injured or lose their life if it happens again.

Of course it'll be as important.

Still in my opinion, the 'old firm' (hate using that term) is not the biggest derby in the world by any means. Compare it to Boca v River or Galatasaray v Fenerbahce and it pales in comparison.

Yep, it will still be important but can I ask what makes their derbys bigger?

Granted, they are big derbys but I don't think their bigger.

I do want to play Rangers, as I have missed the old firm games.

The passion, the atmosphere, the madness surrounding them and the quality of player on show is superior.

They'll be dead long before we have to play them on a regular basis :56:

I doubt we'll draw them in a cup competition either as they'll be knocked out early doors.

Rangers are dead, gone forever, so we'll never play them again.

When we eventually face the new club, the media hype will be unbearable and full of blatant lies such as 'this is the first time Rangers have played Celtic since they were relegated to the third division'. * off, this new Rangers has never played Celtic before and they weren't relegated, they had to apply and enter at the lowest level of Scottish football and played their first ever game against Brechin in 2012, after the SFL bent their rules to allow them to enter despite not having 3 years accounts. It won't be as important as we'll wipe the floor with that sad tribute act of a club. They aren't our rivals, they're an insignificance. However, I will still enjoy it when this new club goes bust too.

Not looking forward to it. I miss the intensity of the Rangers games but I'd be happy to never play Sevco. They would cause so much carnage, and then on top of that you would have the media giving it the "Old Firm return" and all manner of Derek Johnstones and Lee McCullochs attempting to pretend it's the same club we used to play.

The atmosphere will still be the same. Same fans, same naughty songs, same sectarian abuse. It will probably be more poisonous than it has ever been when both sets of supporters have attended a derby game too, due to their old club dying.
