I'm heading over for a stag do in a month or so. Anyone recommend a cheap hotel, doesn't have to be anything special just in a good location really. Don't fancy a hostel either. Where is the main areas to go? Bars? Clubs? Restaurants? Strip clubs etc? lol. Any other information really would be appreciated.....

Head to the Grassmarket and stay around there.

There is 3 strip clubs at one side of the Grassmarket literally a stone throw apart.

The Western is a bit rough but can be a good laugh. Ann Marie that works behind the bar is always up for banter.

Strip club rules are a less strict in Edinburgh.

There is various bars ranging from reasonably quiet for a chat, one regularly runs a comedy club at the Beehive inn and right up to stag/hen night central.

Heading up the grassmarket leads on to the Cowgate. There is various pubs and clubs up there.

The Three Sisters is usually lively and has a big beer garden if it's a good day.

The Brewdog bar is just a door or two up too.

There is a great seafood and steak restaurant on the Grassmarket but it's usually very busy and I doubt tolerate a stag party.

The Mariachi Mexican restaurant is where I'd recommend. The food is good and they make a good atmosphere when groups come in.

Silly sumbrero hats and running around with water pistols full of tequila just stirring people up.

On the same street as The Mariachi is a lively Irish bar called Finnegans Wake and Espionage nightclub.
