Think that has something to do with a link to a Trade Union.

Some people here are the sort of paranoid Celtic fans who think the whole world is out to get them. Not every occurence of the word Union is associated with Unionism in N. Ireland and not every Union Jack is meant as an assault on Celtic or Ireland or whatever the heck people think it means. Relax and don't get so wound up on every little thing that bothers you because it's exactly this sort of behaviour that some people and media are using to portray what they think is a stereotypical paranoid Celtic fan.

I was impressed by Rogic last night. He did fall out the game somewhat but that is to be expected as he can't be fully fit I wouldn't have thought. But I thought he was pretty good in possession first half. The odd one went wayward but all in all, I thought he done well. Woeful defending for the second and third goals.

    I wasn't wound up?

I was just wondering if the Union fan with the Union Jack had any signficance at all. Thought it was a reasonable conclusion to come to.

Uniion Berlin v Celtic (full match report)

Here with some good photos of the fireworks.

    New link here

Re: previous thread that is now closed. I very much doubt the bloke waving the Union Jack intended any ill. Union have often had Union Jack flags at games for a long time. Contrary to popular belief Union fans are not very political. Few nutters and perhaps it was done as a wind-up but I very much doubt it.

Thought your fans were very good and enjoyed the atmosphere. Good luck for the season ahead!

Apologies on behalf of the team for the * you witnessed from the men in hoops, I assure you, Celtic are much, much better when the real football begins.
We should have issued prior warning that CFC simply do not do pre-season friendlies.
The last time we won one was in 1987 and 4 men in Parkhead spontaneously combusted from the shock.

Cheers, was a good day all round. Great craic at the Astra Stube pub pre-match. Then after the game at the Clash club which was madness. Not sure have had a funnier and crazier night following Celtic.

Was surprised at the excessive police and steward presence at the stadium for this, a friendly. Any particular reason for that?

The police presence at football here in Berlin is laughable. Union played a friendly away at a tiny ground in Berlin this pre-season. There were less than a thousand fans and at least 50 police with full riot gear on! It was one of the hottest days of the year and they marched around the ground a few times.

Just justifying their jobs I guess. The presence of the police actually stokes up the tension around the ground I find. No need for them whatsoever. Union fans stood in with you lot. There was a Celtic fan next to use. Absolutely no hint of any bother.

In terms of stewards they always have loads. They are normally spot on and you can have a laugh with them - a far cry from the stewards at Sunderland where I had a season ticket when I lived in the UK. Proper jobsworths there.

Astra Stube is a great little boozer so glad you lot took that over and enjoyed the madness of Berlin.

Had a great time in Berlin and will defo be back. was a cracking wee stadium with a very good atmosphere for a preseason friendly. The show on the park after the game was pretty spectacular too. Also went to astrastrube pre match, then getting the "partybus" to the game which had its own beer pump on it......if only that was allowed over here:icon_mrgreen::shamrock:

    Roll on Dublin now :)

Just arrived back and * me that was mental.

Dont even know how to deal with reality after that.Berlin is incredible.

Union game was brilliant. The banter was top notch and the show afterwards was like a full on rave.

Had a trippy few days on this caffeine powder they sell in shops, feels like e's.

Paddybhoy92 from here is a legend. Shagged a yank in a shower after about half a second in Tresor nightclub(some a place that is)

What a trip. Back to the reality of paying 7 quid for 20 * and not drinking 1 euro beer for breakfast now though.

    Eicht ein Berliner!
