Anyone who picks a relegation battling Premiership team over Celtic is a bullet dodged anyway in my opinion.

Unless there was big plans there to build a Europe challenging team, I can't see how any of these run of the mill Premiership teams would be more attractive than a crack at the Champions League.

I'm a massive Lambert fan and I actually think Villa will give the top 10 a go next season but they have Wiemann, Agbonlahor, N'Zogbia, Bannan, Ireland and Albrighton who can all play his position and if he gets off to a bad start he'll probably never be seen again.

    * awful.

Quick question, why is your site called Talk Celtic but your main Celtic forum called Celtic chat? [IMG]

Awright, thought he was quite good when he played a couple games for Scotland a few years ago. Most players who leave here dead young though * it up with expensive cars and drink and stuff so I'm not surprised he's *!:87:

Why is the pub called the pub when no alcohol is served there? Just one of the little mysteries on TC :50:

Well he's behind Westwood, Delph, Sylla, Holman and N'Zogbia in the central role. Terrible player, terrible attitude. Links of him coming up to you guys. You can have him for 2 mil ;)

Bet there'd be some Villa fans that'd carry him here themselves. :56:

Tbh, we already have wanyama, kayal, mcgeough and rogic who i'd rather see start there. We sold Ki to swansea because he was probably our fourth choice CM at the time, it's not really a position we need to strengthen!

I can assure you, your wage budget will * all over ours.

We always seem to have this debate with fans of english clubs who assume we have the spending power of a mid/lower level BPL side. We aren't even close to that level financially. We're much more in line with Championship clubs in that respect and plenty of them would give us a run for our money in wage terms.

If he signs for Villa over Celtic his main motivation will be money and playing in the BPL.

If he signs for Celtic his main motivation will be playing in the CL and winning trophies.

Pretty much how I see it. Pretty much what the motivation is for all players that go to a bottom 10 EPL side over us.

Monaco will never survive financial fair play regulations. They had an avg attendance of 5,000 last year, and only 10,000 the year they made it to the Champions League final :97:

They're not in Europe so the FFP doesn't apply to them apparently. At least that's what Platini and Blatter said

Players don't need to pay tax either apparently.

As in they're not in a UEFA competition or they are physically based outside of Europe?

We'll just have to be patient on this one. Aston Villa is a decent move, Celtic is an amazing move - it's his call. But he should sit down with Petrov and ask to see his winner's medals from his time at Villa:)

Ah I thought it was something to do with how they were a principality at first. At least not being in the CL/EL is sort of sensible.
